Osteria Tarantino, is in Cape Town itself and is a wonderful family run restaurant specializing in Italian food.
I have been there a number of times and each time I have had a delicious meal.
The food is really good and atmosphere great.
Booking essential.

Had a quick dinner here before an evening function, the time at Osteria was too short unfortunately, but we enjoyed a delicious home made ravioli Napolitano. I would love to come back soon to enjoy a full evening here.

Lunch here has been a delightful surprise. The very pleasing people working at the restaurant and the owner are very warm and friendly. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauces delicious. The winning choice was the tagliatelle with cream of truffle. The starters though were also very good - burrata and stracciatella fresh and creamy.
The room is small and cozy, and it accommodates just a few people so it is recommended to book.
We would love to have the chance to come back. A very good finding!

We've been lucky enough to eat here twice now, and loved the food all round. Deficits don't feature, simply delicious. More importantly though is the pace of things here. You can relax and enjoy your meal, no rush, sip your wine while sampling food and yakking away. This place helps create experiences of what it must have been like in times gone by. Deliciously slow to savour the whole.

We love Enrico’s food. It is always tasty - the Osso Bucco special today was the best we’ve ever tasted. The pastas - 4P’s, Gnocchi, Fioretti all wonderful. Love the Italian cigars to start with. Tiny restaurant so book!
