We enjoyed a lovely meal here yesterday after a late return from Robben Island. food and service were spot on. I would go into more detail, but it's pointless as we were very saddened to hear the restaurant is closing at the end of April. We do hope the lovely staff who served us soon find new jobs as they were universally very nice and efficient.

I have never been to this restaurant because of where it is situated being in the top section of the V & A Mall. However some friends of ours asked us to go with them over the weekend so we decided to give it a try. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. There is no view in the Restaurant except during the day when you will have a glimpse of the harbour. The food consists of lots of different Tapas either served hot or cold and then a few main courses. THe restaurant was packed and I noticed quite a few people that I knew. We were 6 of us and we all had different dishes to eat. I had a special of the day - calamari steak in a coriander sauce which was served cut into triangles over sliced roasted potatoes and some salad. Very interesting and tasty. Hubby and a friend had the Prego Roll which they said was tasty but I suppose for R89 one cant expect more than minute steak (not a pun as it was 2 pieces). Out other friend had the pasta (vegetarian) 1 of the group had the tapas of mutton chops. 3 baby chops but great as a tapas and the last person in the group had sole which was the most expensive of all the dishes. That was R140/145. She said it was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we will go back again.

This was our second time at this establishment, and like before it did not disappoint. The only niggle is the exorbitant prices of wines - cheapest white wine being R145.00. The main meals' pricing is more affordable compared to restaurants on the harbour side of the V&A mall. Great service, combined with scenic views towards Robben island on a sunny day, made for a great culinary experience. We'll be back.

If you are in Cape Town you are sure to spend some time in The Waterfront. If you want to eat go to the Salero, it is on the wing where the posh designer shops are to be found.
The tables are set on a long, narrowing room which has wonderful views over Table Bay. We had a superb lunch from a good menu at reasonable menu. The service was friendly, courteous and efficient.
Got to be one of the best in the Waterfront.
