I have eaten here before on a number of occasions in the last few years, but this last meal was a great disappointment. Calamari three-way was very bland (not sure which one was Cajun!) and rather chewy. The chips tasted like they had been lying on a warming plate for far too long. Fish and chips were better (the fish anyway). Generally, a very disappointing meal and a place I won’t be returning to anytime soon. The problem seems to be an OB one, not just Camps Bay.

Despite the busy Saturday evening, we found the place relatively quiet and enjoyed the ocean view from inside (outside can be too windy!) The extensive fishy menu caters for most tastes and the kingklip and hake were done perfectly. The side salad was a bit sub-par, showing little care and attention and we have had better chips, but it;s still good value for money for a quick bite.

This place has a nice ambience. Service was good. Last night so we both ordered Fish and Chips. When it arrived it had sweet potato mash and some kind of Spinach - Why? Good fish and Chips don't neebld additional potatoes.
Unfortunately the chips were limp and the batter was soggy ie not crispy.
Staff tried to tell is the batter had gone soggy because of dressing but if it had been hot and truly crisp dressing would have no effect . They agreed chips were limp.
Both meals were taken away and came back with crispy chips (excellent) and still soggy batter ( oh dear perhaps we have missed the point in Europe!).
Staff were attentive but you can't make up for poor cooking..

We went last week on a busy night around 5.30 already to get a table outside. We really liked that although all the other restaurants played loud music which made it impossible to keep a conversation going that this one did not as loudly. The menu is extensive and we ordered calamari with spinach and butternut squash and prawns and mussels with salad. The salad was unfortunately a greek one which was not their fault I would have preferred a green. All of the seafood products were nicely grilled but unfortunately all of them came in the same sauce. My mum loved, I did not need it but it was still very alright. I loved the butternut squash, which she did not but she did the same with the spinach which I did not like as much. However we enjoyed our meal and would come back for more. We ended up paying around 300 Rands and felt it was a good price.
