Nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel has a great location and the rooms have a nice layout . We had two sea facing rooms with great views . I had been reading the same reviews and experienced ourselves - the poor service by certain sections of the staff. The breakfast staff was pretty bad and always choose to ignore guests and their requests. They need to be called repeatedly to ask for coffee or remove plates and over time for the three days we had breakfast we could tell they were doing it purposely. They chatted amongst themselves and moved around aimlessly trying not to make eye contact with guests. You need to get up and approach them and then too your request is not met. Breakfast was pretty bad - stale scrambled eggs and the same bacon and sauage everyday which caused stomach concerns. . One of the attendants with a hat responsible for luggage assistance had a lot of attitude quite weird for a service industry professional . Only the guy at the Camille bar was very nice and other attendants who worked around the hotel fixing issues in rooms who came to fix our coffee machine. All pools were closed so practically no amenities available due to winter apart from bar. Thats why reviews and ratings are not great for this property despite being in a fabulous location. The management needs to quickly evaluate and change the existing staff which provides a bad experience on this overall nice property. We stayed at the Taj cape Town for four days before this and the stay and service was impeccable from staff to concierge to everything . Its a shame how a bunch of staff who are smug and not interested in their work can make the experience sour for guests. They seemed to delight in ignoring guest requests and the smug attitude was visible which is appalling for any service industry .

I celebrated my birthday at The Bay Hotel with my boyfriend, and it was amazing. The location on Camps Bay beach is just beautiful, and our spacious room with a sea-view balcony was perfect didn't want to get my eyes off of it.. haha. And get this; the staff surprised us with a birthday cake and champagne! To hell with princess treatment..felt like a queen.The pool area and spa were another highlight, providing a relaxing and luxurious experience. Breakfast on the terrace with ocean views was a great start to each day.Overall, The Bay Hotel made my birthday unforgettable!

We stayed here for 3 nights, and it was the perfect hotel to finish our holiday in S. Africa.
Staff were very friendly, and we had excellent service from everyone in the hotel. I needed to see a doctor and this was very quickly arranged by the hotel and the doctor was at the hotel within 20mins absolutely unbelievable.
Our room was beautiful with a view over the ocean which was absolutely stunning. The rooms were beautifully appointed with the usual Nespresso machine kettle and some complimentary soft drinks and snacks. AC was excellent. Wi-Fi speed was OK but at peak hours slow. We loved our stay there and would definitely recommend paying extra for an ocean view room. Given our flight was not until 10pm we asked if we could get a late check-out to 6pm and this was not a problem and the additional cost was reasonable and this allowed our a very relaxing last day in Camps Bay. We would definitely come back
