Brilliant lunch time stop in a beautiful place. Staff were very helpful and friendly- nothing too much trouble. The food was very good as were the cocktails and the wine. Whilst busy there was no pressure to release the table. Will be going again to get the Calamari that had run out.

We had a long lunch here . What an amazingly situated restaurant looking out over camps bay beach . The service was on point , the wines flowed freely and were brilliant and the food was sumptuous! We are the seafood platter which was amazing

My friends and I (who are all from Pretoria), visited Paranga on our first day in Cape Town. We had pre-booked our table a week before (R200 per person booking fee), a group of 10 friends. It was supposed to be a friend’s birthday dinner. We had a professional photographer hired (as a gift to the Birthday boy - we informed Paranga management abt the photographer by the way), to come and snap some candid and still pictures for 2 hours from our arrival time and in between eating.

Our experience was awful, as we could feel the hatred in the air from the minute we walked into the place. So much racism, and sour faces from guests overwhelmed us to the point we suggested to leave and go look for another eatery so we’d have the dinner in a joyful surrounding. We were the only Blacks in the entire places. We recieved so many sour looks from guests - for no apparent reason. A floor manager then alked up to us and informed us that our photographer is banned immediately, as the guests have started to complain.

This sistuation then started an altercation between us and the manager, asking him had our group been White would the guests be complaining or would he even had cared abt the complaint? The photographer wasnt bothering anyone only snapped us. My friends got so heated up in the argument and asked to leave and for our table booking deposit to be refunded, the manager didnt hesitate or even beg us to stay, he simply told us it would be best if we left we feel that way.

We eventually calmed the whole group down and convinced them to stay, even those who were already standing with their handbags in tow ready to walk out. We decided to stop all the tension as we had come to Cape Town with a full itinerary of having fun. Decided to ignore the racism and just have a good time.

Besides the racist treatment, the food at Paranga is really good. I dont think I’d visit th place again, as my first time experience was such a let down.
