Paranga is definitely a place to visit and enjoy the great cuisine, as well as the nice cocktails, wine and champagne variety!

Had reason to celebrate today and decided on Paranga as we remembered having a great experience once before. We were met by an energetic & inviting team and managed to get one of the best seats in the house during a busy lunch service. Our waitress was extremely well spoken and knowledgeable which is rare these days within the industry. She managed to ensure every need was met without interrupting our meal which we appreciated. The food was as we remembered it which kept the cocktails and tequilas flowing well past lunchtime. A big thumbs up to the Paranga team - you are definitely doing something right. We are chefs in the industry who are not easily impressed and have written off the majority of Cape Towns restaurants but we will be recommending you to EVERYONE. To our waitress, Joyce you are SENSATIONAL and definitely someone to watch - keep your hands on this waitress Paranga as she is an asset! See you guys soon!

My wife and I dined here recently having been recommended by two friends who have had really good experiences.

We were slightly underwhelmed. The food was just ok (crusted kingklip and fillet steak) and since we were right at the front, the ambience was always really busy.

Our waitress was average bordering on rude. She wasn't attentive to our needs, an example being a simple request for still mineral water resulted in us receiving a warm bottle, unopened, plomped on our table which she also didn't pour. I asked her to replace it and she said this was the coldest she had. This was at 7.30pm. She then didn't take our order within 10 minutes but luckily for the restaurant another waiter noticed we had been waiting and took ours instead. After that everything was fine, so maybe we just got unlucky.

Should be better

My husband and I were in Cape Town in January and decided to return to eat at Paranga. Great location and view of the beach.

Both the food and the service were awful. The server spilled salad dressing on my dress and when we asked for new napkins (after using the ones we had to clean my dress) we were told that there were no more napkins available and that we had already been provided with one for each of us.

It was a very strange and subpar experience. We would not recommend this restaurant - lots of other places to try on the strip.

This is one not to miss right next door to The Bayi. Try and sit near the front in Summer great for people watching. Menu is very good but if your not South African and you like fish you must order the Kigclip its super.
