Visited with 2 teenagers, who both have a keen sense of adventure. They found this activity very boring. And hopelessly over priced. We only stayed for 2 rides each and left. Staff at kiosk not very helpful either.

Surprised about your comment as I believe that R25.00 for one ride when you share a "Happy Family Combo' ticket is not expensive at all. And should there be leftover rides than you can even keep it and use them next time as they do not expire!

Luckily most of our other reviews enjoyed our 1.25km long track with 13 bends & 2 S-bends, a tunnel as well as an area where you are airborn for a milli second! If you were not happy with our staff, you should have asked for the Operations Manager, who gladly would have assisted you.

We took our nine year old nephew and met some friends with a 3 year old at the facility. We read the online reviews that advised coming early. We arrived just after ten during the New Year school holidays and it was still cool and there were no lines. By 11 AM there were short lines at the entrance but you had to wait at the top to ride down. By 11:30 AM there were long lines and it was very hot as the track is in sun light. (They do use borehole water to keep the facility grassy.)

The facility is very clean and there are large picnic tables covered by sail cloth that are very shady. There is a bar and a snack stand selling hot dogs and bratwurst type food, so you can't bring outside food or drink in.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Buying the family package that gets you 18 tokens is a good deal for Rand 25 per ride. But for two female adults 4 rides was enough and my nephew who couldn't get enough couldn't use all the token because the lines got so long. But we can come back again to use them up.

I was nervous as I'm afraid of heights, but you can control your speedy easily, except when people behind you go fast they ask you to speed up. Avoid having young boys riding behind you by themselves as they will not respect the 25 meter distance between toboggans and bump you. I refused to get into toboggans unless there was an adult behind me after being bumped.

Bottomline--super for kids, especially boys. Adults will find it fun for a few rides but eventually get bored.

Was very confused reading the “ terrible” reviews of cool runnings as our experience was fabulous!
Can only assume that the new manager at Cool Runnings ( he joined three months ago) has made a huge difference or maybe it makes a big difference if you avoid peak times ?
We arrived as they opened at 9am and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful and welcoming
We were impressed with safety standards with Marshall’s in place all along the track with walkie talkies and good communication with each other
We purchased a family bundle of 18 rides for 450 rand split between our family of 4 and had great fun !
Our 12 year old twins were begging for more rides once the 18 tokens were used up so we bought another 18 and it started to rain lightly and the track was closed ! Very impressed with the attention to safety closing the track but obviously the kids were disappointed ! And as they have a no refunds policy we were now stuck with 18 tokens and were leaving Cape Town as our holiday was nearly over so no chance to comeback another day ...
The manager was very helpful .... he printed off an hour by hour weather report and suggested that the rain may clear within an hour and a half so we bought some French fries and drinks and decided to wait
He kept us informed and updated and we watched staff continually check the track for safety and travel down it with towels trying to dry it for disappointed visitors
After one hour and three runs of four staff with towels drying the track it was re opened and our kids used the 18 tokens and had a great time ....

We went to visit Cool Runnings one Sunday afternoon. My kids were a little nervous at first as you don't really know what to expect. All that changes once you have had your first ride. It was such a lot of fun and my kids are still asking to go back again. A great outing.
