We took our nine year old nephew and met some friends with a 3 year old at the facility. We read the online reviews that advised coming early. We arrived just after ten during the New Year school holidays and it was still cool and there were no lines. By 11 AM there were short lines at the entrance but you had to wait at the top to ride down. By 11:30 AM there were long lines and it was very hot as the track is in sun light. (They do use borehole water to keep the facility grassy.)
The facility is very clean and there are large picnic tables covered by sail cloth that are very shady. There is a bar and a snack stand selling hot dogs and bratwurst type food, so you can't bring outside food or drink in.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Buying the family package that gets you 18 tokens is a good deal for Rand 25 per ride. But for two female adults 4 rides was enough and my nephew who couldn't get enough couldn't use all the token because the lines got so long. But we can come back again to use them up.
I was nervous as I'm afraid of heights, but you can control your speedy easily, except when people behind you go fast they ask you to speed up. Avoid having young boys riding behind you by themselves as they will not respect the 25 meter distance between toboggans and bump you. I refused to get into toboggans unless there was an adult behind me after being bumped.
Bottomline--super for kids, especially boys. Adults will find it fun for a few rides but eventually get bored.
