We recently stayed at your resort this past long weekend and I would like to inform you of how disappointing the stay was.
We understand that you are doing renovations, however the rate you charged should have been discounted to say the least.

We have stayed at your resort in the past and it was absolutely amazing.

This time however I would like to raise the following points as to why I am saying it was so disappointing.

1) There was absolutely no activities for our kids
2) The food selection was terrible on the first night (Saturday), and marginally better on Sunday night
3) The venue in which you served the food was terrible, a banquet hall for food?
4) The games room for the kids really needs to be redone and updated

A few years ago, your food was out of this world including the selection was brilliant to say the least.
You had kids activities on the grounds during the day which included a water slide.

The only upside I can state is that the room we were allocated was not bad at all, minus the wasps that occasionally flew in.

I’m not one to usually complain but to pay R4500 for 2 nights to me was a rip off and will not be coming back anytime soon.

Dear Arri Benson

Thank you for your mail and thank you for bringing this to my attention, it is sad to hear that you had a bad experience at Sparkling Waters.

As you noticed, we are currently under renovations and have had to move the restaurant to the main conference hall temporarily while we finish upgrading the main building, we should be finished by September this year. Our first phase is for the entire Main building to be upgraded, including two restaurants, a coffee lounge, boutique (shop), formal & informal lounges, plus a large outside deck overlooking the valley. It is going to be fantastic. Thereafter we will move on to the rooms and other facilities – including the games room. I must tell you that some of our guests love the retro arcade games.
I see that you were booked on one of our packages the: Summer Family Getaway Package. Which includes:
R 4500 for two nights
Welcome Cocktails
Spa Treatment (Aromatherapy Full body for 50mins for a couple)
Breakfast and Dinner
2 nights stay
Kids under 12 years stay for Free
Price is for 2 adults sharing for two nights
Executive room/family room
This package is priced at a discounted rate, if you compare it to our rack rates, you will notice it is a great deal, I’m sorry to hear that you believe you were “ripped off”.
We advertised the kiddies entertainment on our notice board in the foyer area, the entertainment for the weekend included: pellet gun shooting, face painting in the games room, kiddies buffet & movies at dinner with baby sitters, “marshmallo braai” around the bon fire on both Friday & Saturday.
As we are moving into winter and it is a bit cooler during the day we decided not to set the water slide up, we hired a large jumping castle instead.
I have read all of the comment forms for the weekend and have only positive comments regarding the food over the weekend, however, if you were not satisfied and brought it to the Chef or manager’s attention they could have prepared a dish from the lunch ala carte menu for you.
Sparkling waters is always looking for ways to improve, this post on “tripadvisor” will certainly motivate the team to try even harder, I thank you for taking the time.

We were advised that the hotel was under renovation but were assured that this did not impact any of the facilities.
The room was tired to say the least. A musty damp dirty carpet smell hit us as soon as we opened the door. The TV was severely snowy, the aircon didn't work and nor did the phone. There was however a fruit basket which was a nice touch.
The make shift bar took 35 mins to prepare a Tequilla sunrise which finally arrived without grenadine. The make shift dinning area housed in the conference centre was stark dark and dismal. No marmalade at breakfast - a breakfast staple. No sambels with the curry, no apple sauce with the pork. On the upside the crispy bacon was great as was the pork and crackling.
The spa treatments were good and we really enjoyed the hour spent there. The evening marshmallow bonfire is a great idea and was huge fun the kids. The kids enjoyed the games room and the putt putt facility was good fun and well maintained. We received excellent service from Betty at the Hadeda pool restaurant and the lunch from there was of a high standard. The same could not be said for the dinning room waiters.
I truly hope that with the renovations some serious training will take place. The resort has potential which is not currently realised.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not near the kitchen. It can be very noisy early in the morning.

Thank you to Amanda and the day spa staff at Sparling Waters. They made us feel welcome from the moment we enter. We had the spa facilities for our group of 17 ladies for the whole morning. Treatments were of the highest quality. Additionally our lunch was served at the spa itself. Cocktail were also served to ladies to enjoy in jucuzzi! Thank you for an enjoyable day

What a pleasant surprise to discover this delightful resort. I had the opportunity of spending 3 days and two nights at this resort. Ok from the onset I knew that there was building works going on but this did not deter the staff or the quiet ambience of the surroundings.

At a first glance it did not seem to like Wow you over, it's not luxurious in your face, but the subtle touches such as friendly staff, great food and comfortable rooms are in my opinion a definite return and recommendation.

Firstly: staff are super friendly and go totally out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. From checking to checkout.

Meals: what I enjoyed about lunch , dinner and breakfast, no buffets. A limited menu choice yet catering for all tastes was refreshing. Quality and portions were more than ample.

Rooms: comfortable and spacious. My only gripe was the pillows.just to fluffy and big, I am sure if I asked they would have accommodated me.

Wifi: yes there is wifi at the main reception area, but during our stay , even though they do state that there is wifi in the rooms. There wasn't any. Perhaps that wasn't such a bad thing, as if forced you to relax after a long days hardwork.

Spa: Yes we all went as a group and had a massage. Friendly staff, massage was good and professional.

Would I recommend this establishment for a conference? Absolutely

Understandably the hotel is under renovation which are very disruptive. We came for my birthday weekend to find the room decorated like something from the 90s and overpriced. Our phone didn't even work and the power constantly went off all the time. The dinner and breakfast was in the coference centre and way below standard. Every time we dined there was flies in the flower vases. Very disgusting! This hotel needs the upgrade to its services and appearance. Hope the new management can turn it around.
