We rode by motorcycle from Johannesburg and our stay over for a night en route to Springbok was in Upington. I had such a lovely time with Jacqueline it felt like I was visiting my grandmother en route to a holiday. We were welcomed with a lovely warm meal and a comfortable room to stay in (Rossinni). The beds were very comfortable and it had all that one needed to be well rested for another long day in the saddle the following day. We stayed again on our return trip and were relocated to another room (smaller) but the bed was just as comfortable. As she uses solar power for the hot water the shower pressure is not as strong as it would be in a normal situation. I have no problem with this as it is doing something for the planet and saving costs. The food was home cooked and she is such a wonderful/entertaining host. Refuge after a long day.

We stayed here for one night on our way back from Botswana. The room was extremely old school but had all the amenities we needed for a night. Jackie, the owner, was very friendly and giving us tipps where to go for dinner.
Breakfast was just amazing. Such a variety of food for only two people, including home made joghurts. We had a long and interesting chat with Jackie who made us feel very welcome.
We will definitely stay there again next time we are in Upington.

Arguably the best place to stay in Upington (unless you like banal business hotels). It's beautiful and functional (great wifi) - all anyone could need.
