La D Da Lodge have rooms and chalets on offer. We book a room since chalets was fully book.
Room is clean and neat but very basic. Tiny mirror against the wall in room. Bathroom with toilet and shower. Water pressure is very poor. Cannot shower properly.
Small tiny tv without remote so available channels could not be reported off.
As one of the cheapest overnight places in Kimberley it is worth it even with the small shortfalls reported.

I must say that the rooms are very clean, and the lodge has a great atmosphere, it was quite and comfortable. the trucks can be a bit noisy but lets face it, noise is something you get everywhere. I had a good nights stay at a very affordable price.
Thank You La D Da for a great nights stay and friendly service.

Having traveled to many places around the world and South Africa, this was one of the worst places I've ever stayed in.

We arrived at 10pm, having driven from Joburg. We had to ring the bell at the gate to be let in, upon which a VERY unfriendly woman checked us in. She said "We closed at 9pm" and I really didn't know what to say about that. I was just shocked we didn't get a "hello" or anything.

The water pressure was non-existent in the bathroom. The one bed had brown marks all along the edges of the duvet, and the bedding was stained brown in places. There were no curtain nets, so we couldn't open the curtains unless we wanted the world to peer into our room. The towels must have been about 10 years old, and stank of sweat after just one shower. The carpet was dirty and had other people's hair stuck to it. There are signs EVERYWHERE very strictly telling you what you may or may not do. The rooms are dell and have no atmosphere whatsoever.

This place was horribly unwelcoming. Even for a budget place. I have stayed in excellent places cheaper than this. Do not stay here - spend a little more for smiles and a better atmosphere, even for one night.

Room tip: Stay in the newer buildings - more expensive but probably better.

Face it - this is a budget overnight stop only. But as such, albeit basic, it is clean and reasonably well maintained. We had a comfy bed with clean sheets, the bathroom was functional with a good shower, and the airconditioning worked well (which was much appreciated in midsummer). Millions of mozzies (rather unsurprising given all the good rains) and big trucks driving by all night long, but for the pretty low price - La D Da serves it purpose well.

The rooms are very basic, but clean. Our room had new carpets with the shower newly tiled as well. Bed is comfortable and we all had a good nights rest. The sound of the passing trucks can maybe be a bit disturbing if you are not used to it. The only problem is the low water pressure in the shower. Overall a good overnight stay at a very good prize. Will use again.
