From the moment of contact with Ms Goitsimang: receptionist, waitress, ambassador-extraordinaire for Oliver's, you know this venue needs an upgrade to 5*. Congratulations! A telephone conversation sent me to the address, a smile made me feel my 5hour journey to get there was worth every kilometre, and the comfort of superb, clean, and-should-I-add "spectacular" accommodation overlooking their golf course, made this a weekend to remember. Tanya, manageress, has put together a winning formula, and her untiring dedication to every detail re a guests' expectations
invites one to believe we are in their "home", more than a lodge! Once the restaurant is savoured, all 5 stars abound! Cuisine is tastefully presented with healthy portions, swift service and an obvious pride from the staff's professional approach to every patron, or group of patrons no matter the number, You've got it! I'll be back for more! G

Room Tip: Overlook the golf course... or choose the family Cottage!

Excellent stay for 2 nights. The room was a sectioned off part of a much larger apartment that no one was staying in. Very modern and comfortable with a huge surrounding balcony overseeing the golf course. The lodge loaned me a set of clubs for free and the course was superb. Both breakfast and dinner were in the restaurant which was excellent although the service was a little lacking on the final night (they didn't bother to ask us if wanted dessert so we just left. Internet was fast.

While travelling through South Africa with a group of nine we stayed in some lovely inns and lodges. All of them without a problem until Olivers. Since we had all booked through Thompsons the rooms were of the same high standard. Upon arrival at Olivers there seemed to be some problem with our reservation, but a room was found. As we were being led to the room with another fellow traveller we caught a glimpse of her room which was quite impressive and commented that we hoped our room was the same. The man taking us said it was, well It wasn't. It was not the "luxury" suite we were promised. We went back to reception to enquire and this is where we became very disappointed with the service. The lady said we were in that room because we had paid less which was not true. They were adamant and our tour director tried to intervene to no avail. It was the attitude of the hosts that bothered us the most.
I would not be writing this negative review if they had said we are so sorry but we ran out of "luxury" suites. It was their attitude that we were in the wrong and we certainly didn't feel like valued guests! It spoiled our stay in an otherwise lovely lodge. A lesson in how to treat guests should be mandatory for all staff. A warm welcome together with professional, personalized and friendly service was not evident. Tanja the owner even embarrassd us in front of the others by saying we had not paid as much. With just a little empathy this whole mess could have been avoided. 1 out of 10 for customer service, so we can't recommend this lodge!

Room Tip: Do not chose Room 12 if you want a patio or tub.

Stayed at Olivers for 3 days, used as a base to travel to play golf at Leopards Creek, about an hour away.
Room was very spacious, full amenities, and good ac. However, the staff and food were quite exceptional. Special mention for Neville who was the standout staff member of our month long tour of South Africa. Well done team!

What a beautiful setting, comfortable armchairs just for a coffee. Or, if you prefer fine dining this is a must, do go before sundown though to appreciate the beautiful tranquil gardens overlooking the golf course. We have been here several times and each time is no less magical! Food is first class, service is always impeccable, beautiful wines to accommodate all tastes!! Well done!!
