We stayed at Sunset Lodge in St. Lucia for 10 days during the December holidays. We loved it and although we would like to expand our horizons regarding all other wild and wonderful destinations in South Africa, we are so tempted to return to St. Lucia and in particular Sunset Lodge.
We had a wonderful few days at Sunset Lodge. Hospitality, serenity, comfort at its best. Always a special place with all the amenities you could wish for, beautiful views, and let's not forget the amazing views and sunset.
We had the end chalet with the view towards the estuary and the deck area was lovely. Pity about the weather which didn't allow lingering sundowners :( . The hosts were really very helpful and pleasant. Only negative was the bathroom which was rather cramped and shower over the bath could do with some attention. It was comparatively good value for money, even though the rooms were on the small side.
A beautiful end to a busy day (the BIG 5 is a 30min drive away and the beach even closer): a picture perfect sunset while having a braai (BBQ) and cooling off in the pool. This place reminds me of why life in Africa is so special.
Within less than 5 minutes walking from all "downtown" eateries, Sunset Lodge is situated perfectly. The chalets were spacious, clean and well equipped, the property looked after and mostly secure. The views are nice and the place is quiet. Would come back anytime (when not traveling with our dogs, as they don't accept them).
