Kingfisher Lodge is at the very end of the street bordering the St Lucia Estuary. It's large garden is a birdwatchers paradise, from where you can explore the GwalaGwala Trail through the forest just outside the property.
We were met by Zanele, very friendly and efficient in showing us around and advising on where to dine. She cooked laid out a lovely breakfast spread and cooked a delicious full house breakfast.
Our double room was a bit cramped and it would have been good to have had an accessible plug point for charging phones and camera batteries. The shower was enormous, though, and the vanity was large enough for two. Being right on the boundary of the property, we could hear the neighbours' chatting, but it was not disruptive at all.
This would definitely be our preferred place to stay next time we are in St Lucia.
