Where do I start? There is so much to talk about...

Just for starters, I showed up with my Nikon D850 and a Nikon600mmF4 lens. We had planned this trip for many months. When I arrived, my camera was broken! Bernhard was able to, IN THE BUSH, get me a rental D850 in less than 24 hours. Unreal, but a testament to their commitment, resourceful, and level of service.

This is my second trip with Bernhard and Hennie. With combined more than 40 years of safari / bush experience, they just know the behavior of animals, every species from bird to mammal, and all the "hot spots". I will be going through photos for months as I have so many amazing finds and some very rare mammals and birds.

The most important things that you'll recognize about Bernhard and Hennie

1. They know their stuff...Animals, nature, etc
2. They are outstanding photographers
3. They are very easy to get along with, friendly and patient
4. They custom tailor the trip
5. They are great cooks!

These guys work so well together and create a very special experience. I simply cannot recommend them enough.

If you happen to do a tour with them, ask them about #leopardTail

Hi

Thank you for the kind words I must say to get the D850 on a Saturday in the Bush was not an easy task especially when we were about 6 hours from the nearest real civilization, but we did it and all worked out well.

It was a pleasure having you with us again and looking forward to future adventures in Southern Africa.

Take care, fly high! #leopardTail

Bernhard and Hennie Bekker of Private Kruger Safaris were incredible guides and worked extremely hard to locate a variety of wildlife throughout our Kruger trip, which included the northern and central reaches of the park. I've traveled across the globe to photograph wildlife and I can personally say that no one works harder than these guys. They are committed to deliver the best experience for their guests. Beyond even the animal life, it was very helpful to get a history of the park and also the various ecosystems that thrive within it. This was my first visit with them and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Their tours can accommodate folks of all interest levels, whether you're a casual visitor, curious onlooker, birder, or photographer. Next time you're near Kruger or planning a trip, please look them up, you won't be sorry!

Our 9-day private photo safari took us throughout the central and northern-most areas of Kruger. And what an epic adventure we had! We witnessed and photographed the beauty and power of Kruger on a thoughtfully planned itinerary that took us over 1500 km with stays at five different, well-appointed camps. Bernhard and Hennie are absolute professionals who consistently found the animals (big cats, raptors, rare birds) we wanted to see. At big sightings, our guides expertly maneuvered the truck to put us in the right spot to get the perfect shots. Their passion for Kruger and its wildlife was palpable. Rare sightings brought spinning tires, excited whispers, and near-total mayhem as we positioned the truck and our cameras for our shots! In the rare down moments, Bernhard often recounted amazing (and often hilarious) stories of his experience as a guide and living in the bush. Their knowledge and love for this special place and wildflife photography made this experience unforgettable. The truck and equipment were new, clean, and in great condition. The camera mounts worked well. I would unconditionally recommend booking a trip with Private Kruger Safaris/B1 Photographic Safaris. It was a sad day leaving our new friends, Kruger, and Africa. This was a special, life-altering trip that wildly exceeded our expectations. Words fail. I can’t wait to get back!

Hi James

Yes, it was a real adventure going to the North of Kruger Park and we got lucky many times. You were a great co-pilot at the back and keep up the good work with the artistic blur shots hahaha. It was amazing sharing all the big cats and various birds with you and the appreciation are appreciated and make us very glad to show it to you guys.

Take care until next time!

Arno, our guide, met us at the airport and from then showed us how to use our cameras in full manual and showed us the amazing sights of Kruger National Park. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough! We came away with too many fantastic photos that we are going to struggle to fit them all in one book! We were awed at Arno’s knowledge and experience and learnt so much. We saw the ‘big five’ of course, but so much more and came away so happy that we couldn’t even pick ten highlights there were so many more. Our guide could spot things at such a distance and knee the behaviour of the animals so well that we were able to move to the best place for the best shot.
Enough said. A trip not to be missed!

The game drive in Kruger was our third one of the trip and THE WORST thanks to a rude, arrogant and condescending driver/guide (Quentin). Instead of working with the group he from the get go told us that he doesn’t like large groups. He then continued to tell us that he knows what he is doing and would not stop at wildlife sightings that we wanted to take pictures of. Example: we saw a large herd of elephants at a water hole. Would have been a beautiful photo opportunity from a bridge we were crossing. It would have taken 3 minutes and everybody would have been happy. Yet he speeded ahead because at some other location there were lions. When we reached the location, the viewing was very poor because a) the lions were down at a river bed with lots of bushes and trees blocking the view and b) there was a traffic jam! On another occasion one other guide apparently spotted a rare bird. Our driver turned the car and we spent nearly 20!!! minutes trying to see bird. It was so small that only he with his binoculars and one of our group members with a 400 mm camera lens could spot it.
Bottom line: people spend a lot of money coming to Kruger to see wildlife (Big Five). If a guide doesn’t accommodate a group’s requests, he is in the wrong business. Being told continuously that we would see enough animals later just doesn’t cut it. A 100% photo shot opportunity trumps a “may be” sighting in my book. Serious attitude adjustment is needed here!

Fantastic few days in Kruger Park with Private Kruger Safaris. We booked in advance, and Private Kruger Safaris delivered above expectations on all fronts. Absolutely highly recommend. We had the same, very knowledgeable, gentleman (Arno) all 4 days ...3 days kruger + 1 day Blyde river area.
Arno went beyond expectations to get us the “big 5”...incl an unforgettable Leopard sighting and numerous birds...simply amazing....
We are already considering the next trip with PK Safaris
