What a fantastic location. The rooms are a good size and very comfortable. The Staff are very professional, polite and approachable. A big shout out to Patavia (beautiful) you have a gem there. The food is good as is the choice. I was part of a group of 40 on a tour of SA so only stayed 2 nights but a good 2 nights. Will be back.

Fabulous place this with a great atmosphere. Their golden jewel is their staff - nothing is too much trouble, cheerful, attentive and friendly. Loved th African singing and dancing and the evenings were so atmospheric overlooking the lovely gardens and river with lighting. Breakfasts and lunches were good. Very handy for Kruger National Park. One could sometimes see the elephants giving rides whilst having lunch.
Lovely gardens. This hotel is well run and deserves to do well.

Room tip: Try to get a ground floor room.

We ended up staying here by accident (long story), and we only stayed the one day but found it to be an absolute gem, to say the Estate is just off the main road through Hazyview you would never know it, the estate is beautifully kept, there is a combination of hotel rooms and lodges, we stayed in one of the lodges overlooking the river, it had its own veranda, swing chair, own BBQ, everything you need to feel colonial, and if theres a more comfortable bed in South Africa i would be surprised, the food was very good, both evening meal and breakfast, and if your lucky you might be treated to one of the local hippos coming out of the river to graze in front of the restaurant, the staff we met were all friendly helpful and always smiling (like most of the people we met in South Africa to be honest) would definitely recommend staying here, and would definitely stay again, beautiful

Room tip: if you can get one of the lodges overlooking the river, you never know what you will see, always have your camera ready

Elaborate hotel complex that stylistically looks like a hunting lodge. Love all the thatched roofs and the colonial feel to the exteriors. Rooms are either in the main buildings or are spread out like chalets. Lots of meandering paths and very well kept gardens. Great veranda that looks out on a small lawn and the river. Quite picturesque. Added bonus is the odd appearance of Hippos and Crocs who can make their way on to the lawn in the evenings.

Good sized restaurant inside and small bar. Small gift shop too. Food I sampled was one of the tastiest meals in Africa I had. Pools make for another bonus. Room good size with high ceilings. Fan and air conditioning is ok once it gets working. Clean bathroom and unusual walk in shower.

Staff and security team helpful and pleasant.

Loved this place, great location. Food was nice and plentiful hot or cold. Lovely deck area and you can eat your meal while hippos graze on the lawn. You can see the elephants go past. Wonderful. Would stay here again.
