Our stay at Sabie River Bush Lodge was exceeding our expectations by far. We stayed for one night at the beginning of our roadtrip across Kruger Nationalpark. The Paul Kruger Gate is very close from the Lodge and can be reached within 45 minutes. So for us this was a perfectly located starting point of our adventure. The welcome was very warm and we felt at home from the very first moments. The staff is very helpful and made our stay even better. The bungalows are clean and leave nothing to be desired. We had dinner at the Lodges restaurant where you can choose from both two starters and main courses. The terrace gives a stunning view to Sabie River where you sometimes see Hippos. For sundowners the staff lit a fire where we watched the sun go down. We would definitely come back here because it marked a great start to our Kruger adventure.

Staying at Sabie River Bush Lodge was a really nice experience. All the installations are extremely clean and tidy. The service is excellent and all very welcoming. Our only comment would be the fact of having the bathroom outside the tent. We didn't expect this and even though it was a specific bathroom for our tent, we did not find this option as comfortable as having it inside the tent.

Although our room was decorated nicely, on our first night we tried to shower and nearly flooded our room. When we spoke with the management they did provide us with another room with some coersion, as the plumbing did not look as if it would be an easy fix. Overall, the staff were friendly and did fix our problem, the food was decent and the setting was lovely.

We stayed at one of the luxury tents in front of the Sabie River. We took the sunset and the full day safaris. Everything went beyond our expectations. We saw the BIG FIVE during the full day safari and even WILD DOGS during the sunset safari. Our guide Stephen was super kind and caring, he explained a lot to us and was very polite. He did a lot for us to be able to see the Big 5, and we did (thanks to his eyes that found what no one else could have found)!! The leopard was the hardest to find, but suddenly he appeard right in front of us! I was so surprised I could took him a fine photo, but I will never forget the moment he stared at us. IT WAS SPECTACULAR!!! The lodge was beautiful and the people the were absolutely kind, they EVEN WASHED OUR CAR!!! The lodge is very near the Paul Kruger Gate. You just don't stop viewing animals when you return from the safaris, because THEY SHOW UP AT THE LODGE AS WELL! We saw elephants, a buffalo and a hippo right in front of us when we where having dinner! The food was PERFECT and they even prepare special dinners outside, where they also set bonfires every night for you to sit and relax. THANK YOU SABIE RIVER BUSH LODGE FOR THIS WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!

The place was nice and clean, but I think it lives a little from its location just outside Paul Kruger Gate. But anyway: we had a nice and calm night rest, a good breakfast and the view (we booked cabin no. 2) was just stunning. The only thing that was not that nice was the dinner. All in all: the place is worth the money you pay, especially because of the very good location.
