From the minute we walked into Jock we knew we were going to love it. Truly authentic in every way and such wonderful people made our stay great. I have spent 3 of the most memorable days ever with my children aged 8 and 9. They were perfect ages and their level of interest, amazement and enjoyment along with their love of animals is something I won't forget. Our ranger, Jacob was informative, fun and willing to help us find all that we wanted to find. We spent 3 nights here and as soon as we arrived at 3.30 we were told to get ready and we would be out on safari at 4. The first night didn't disappoint. It's a busy few days with early starts (a 5am wake up call) but you need to get out early to see everything. We got to see everything and more - the big 5 multiple times and the rangers all communicate with each other to make sure we all get to see everything. After a busy morning (cold but lovely big blankets in the safari vehicles and we took hot water bottles that were provided every night in our rooms - a lovely touch) there is plenty of time for rest so I indulged in 2 massages. Hloniphile was my therapist and I have to say I had 2 of the best massages ever. My children went with Jacob to learn...From the minute we walked into Jock we knew we were going to love it. My children went with Jacob to learn our to make toothbrushes and toilet paper in the bush, learn about the difference between black and white rhinos and how you can eat elephant poo!!!! They came back full of knowledge. Then it was lovely to sit and watch the animals go past from the decking of your own room - herds of elephants with their calves, baboons and lots more. Then back out again for an afternoon drive, sunset drinks in the bush and back for a lovely dinner. The food was delicious and the highlight of our trip was a bush breakfast - made us feel so special. I was lucky to have my birthday here and the team here made it very special - a lovely run bath with candles and rose petals when we got back from a cold safari and a cake. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jock. Naomi who in charge of the resort on a day to day basis couldn't do enough to make sure guests were having a great time. This place is truly special - we'd love to come back and our children don't want to leave this morning!More
