We loved Jock from the moment we arrived - it was blistering hot and the WiFi room is air conditioned! We felt spoiled from the start by Busi, Lee Anne and Lazarus. The lodge is rife with nice little surprises like the variety of beverages provided at the end of game drives. The game drives were simply fabulous, and Micah knew where to find all the animals as well as everything about their habits. I learned so much about the bush and the wildlife. Micah was committed and would enthusiastically go out on a three-hour drive even if only one person wanted to go.

The food at the lodge was great with a variety of dishes all prepared by Sam. He created a huge spread for a Saturday night boma feast complete with local dances. Everyone was gracious and always attentive and friendly. Thanks to Prince, Ike, Delsey, and Sipho for their wonderful hospitality.

Days were filled with various activities and we were active as much as we wanted the whole stay. Our time at Jock was incredible and we would both love to visit there again.

Our unforgettable experience and stay at the luxurious JOCK SAFARI LODGE. ...in the heart of the Kruger National Park...was un-matchable.

Living among these animals and other creatures in their natural habitat was an experience that has to be lived. No travel guide can actually capture the reality of such personal experience. Those early morning and late night Safari explorations...we're quite simply.....priceless!

Our official Safari Guide/Driver...Patrick....and our Lodge Manager, Naomi and the entire staff... epitomise what tourism hospitality should be.....welcoming, safe, non-judgmental, caring, responsive and giving guests that homely feeling..... from arrival to departure.

The ambiance of the individual lodge, the privacy, comfort and attention to detail by the management and staff.....hallmarks of focus hospitality.

And how could we forget those varied and appetizing meals.....truly South African with all the international flare and ingredients. Thank you Phil and the entire catering staff.
We will be back!

Room tip: Get a lodge with views of the river-even if the riverbed is dry, there is still an appeal about such location.

We took a group o ten to Jock Safari Lodge for three nights as part of a book launch and African Culinary Adventure. The welcome we were met with was second to none. The entire team ensured that our guests experienced South African hospitality at is best. The Suites are absolutely out of this world as are all the amenities and facilities.
One of our guests had his birthday whilst there and the evening of our BBQ the chefs baked him a cake and he was included in a dance the evening around the fire, he will never forget the day, so special and thoughtful.
We go on Safari with groups four times a year and this is of the highest standard we have experienced over the years. The game rangers are simply the best and so knowledgeable as well as motivated to ensure you have a great experience and see as much as possible.
The food is outstanding and the chefs so friendly and helpful. The Game 'Bobotie' is a must to try out. Breakfast is so good and of the best we have experienced, well done chef! you and your kitchen team are gold dust, keep it up.
To the entire management team, thank you for a unforgettable experience and we will be back in 2018.

Room tip: all Suites are superb

We stayed at Jock Safari and had 10 drives and had an absolutely amazing time.

We had Patrick as our ranger and he was brilliant. We had great fun with him and the 2 other couples we did our daily trips with and who we were with throughout the trip. Patrick took time to find out what we wanted to see as well as providing us with a wealth of information on animals, birds, plants etc. It was amazing stopping each night for a glass of wine / beers /snacks on the drive and standing chatting in the wilderness.

The food was outstanding, with a huge breakfast made to order, followed by a beautiful lunch, and each night the dinner took on a different theme, buffet, BBQ...
There is also a bar for pre dinner / post dinner drinks, however generally we were in bed by 10.30 at the latest.
Dinner was very informal and you have about 15-20 mins after the drive to quickly change, wash your face and brush your teeth.

The drinks were cheap and a great selection of wines on offer. Equally the Spa and Massages are very good value and cheaper than at home. Enjoyed a lovely 45 min back massage which you can book relatively easily.

The day does start at 5am so the trip is tiring but as soon as you are up the excitement starts when you start looking for various animals. There is plenty of time for a post breakfast nap! I do think 4 days is a good length of time to visit for a Safari.

The drives can be very cold, so you need
Trainers, combats, vests, t-shirts, sweatshirts and a coat with a hood. Would also recommend sunglasses and a beanie hat for the morning drives. I was wearing 3 or 4 layers easily some days. Equally it was 40 degrees one day and too hot to sunbathe or be outdoors, so very extremes in weather.

In the room there is umbrellas, blankets, mosquito spray so you don't need these items to go. We had no problem at all with Mosquitos the whole time we were there. There was one universal plug socket in the room, all others used the standard 3 pin South African plug.

The service by all the staff was outstanding, and we loved all of our trip there and made some great friends.

Would recommend this to everyone!

We stayed at Jock for five nights from Wednesday 9th to Monday 14th November 2016
Jock has its own private concession within Kruger where one is very much alone in the wooded savanna, that forms the landscape of Kruger, and its wildlife. However the safaris also go into the public areas where other vehicles are encountered but this did not pose any problems whilst we were there.
Jock is a very special place. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and clean. The public areas were great as well and the whole complex was unusual and interesting.
All the friendly staff did their very best to make our stay as happy a one as possible and the quality and variety of the food on offer exceeded our expectations.
To top everything we had Micah as our ranger/tracker. His enthusiasm for all the birds and animals we saw was extraordinary and his ability to find them uncanny. Only once in the ten three-hour safaris we did with him did I spot something before he did. And we saw such a huge variety, far beyond what we had hoped for. Every day we saw the “Big 5” but a huge number and variety of other mammals, birds and reptiles as well.
Without an experienced tracker visitors would only see a fraction of what we saw. If a vehicle from Jock found anything particularly interesting it would alert the others, which helped to ensure that guests saw as much as possible.
Jock and its surroundings were a photographer’s dream and I came away with hundreds of photos and over two hours of video clips, which will bring back happy memories for years to come.
We would strongly recommend Jock to anyone looking for a top rate safari experience.
