I had another great stay at Timbavati Safari Lodge. The lodge attracts like minded, relaxed friendly travellers that you don't always find at the more expensive places. The staff bend over backwards to accommodate guests- a special thank you to Rob the manager and Luke the barman (and driver, and guide, and everything else!). Will be back as it is so relaxing.

Room Tip: New luxury tents going in soon to complement the rondavels. Rooms further from the restaurant and po...

We were staying at the Southern African Wildlife College and we went to Timbavati Safari Lodge for Dinner one evening. We were actually a bit cheeky and asked to use the pool before dinner for a few hours and we ended up having lunch there too. We were warned that the pool was freezing cold, it wasn't too bad though! Great lunch, drinks, then a great dinner. Such a nice place to chill out, on the grounds we saw Zebra, Wildebeest and a Warthog came to the side of the pool!

If you need a really good value for money lodge that is unpretentious yet really comfortable and with good food etc, then look no further. Great place to base yourself en route to Kruger or even to do day visits into the central Park.
I found the staff very friendly (except those that sat around the bar smoking like chimneys and disregarding anyone around them!!) and efficient, rooms clean and comfortable without being over the top, food tasty and good in quantity with breakfast being especially nice and very comprehensive for a 3 star lodge!
All in all, I was very pleasantly surprised and happy to have stayed there. Look forward to another visit.

After a fantastic stay in July 2015 I returned with my family to experience this great place again. I was not disappointed as the lodge is constantly upgrading its facilities to give customers more.Kylie and Rob are fantastic hosts and make you feel part of the Timbavati family. My family were just gob smacked with the evening and all day safaris. The food and accommodation is excellent. This is the true African experience all I can say is JUST GO THERE!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room backing onto the bush that way you will see wildlife in the early morning

We visited Timbavati with a large group of university students in June of 2016 and loved the cheerful and colorful rondavel huts, the excellent food and service and the close proximity to Kruger National Park. A warm and welcoming staff made our visit very comfortable!
