July business/fishing weekend.

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Jul 2020
Giants Cup Wilderness ticked all the boxes. If you are into fly fishing, hiking or just looking for a weekend away this is the spot. The dam is the most scenic and stunning trout dam in the country with gin clear water and hard fighting trout.

Wonderful service, in a phenomenal setting. We stayed in a lovely secluded cottage, that had everything we needed. The staff are so friendly, and the freshly baked bread they delivered to us was an unexpected treat! Gorgeous views and utter relaxation in the midst of nature. Plenty of photo opportunities for the camera enthusiast, and beautiful walking trails. Herds of eland ambling along in the distance, and to experience that magical call of the jackal at the end of the day was the highlight of an incredible stay. Will definitely be back!! Would certainly recommend it to anyone.

We stayed for three nights. The cottages are well appointed, rustic as the setting requires and have all you need including being serviced. Tash was wonderful, attentive and so helpful. We were also provided with a fresh loaf of bread with pate which was both thoughtful and delicious. Giants cup is a piece of heaven. The views and tranquility are priceless. The trout dam is such a beauty and on day 3 the fish were biting! A very special place. Thanks so much. We will be back!

A beautiful cottage in the mountains. With no network coverage was actually nice to not have the phone going all the time. A fab fireplace to keep us warm was so cosy and nicely set up for us. Views over the dam and mountain back drop just amazing. If you looking for an escape from the world this is perfect. My rating for sleep is down to im used to sleeping in blackout room the one bedroom has a path light shining into the room which kept me up. I understand the reasoning for the blinds chosen as sun rises you get such amazing views. Host is lovely, we would book again i would just bring eye mask next time :)
