Internet is poor. They charge for anything over 500 MB. The reception and welcome was relatively and friendly but the game drive was good with an excellent guide. Rooms are lovely but the property would benefit from more friendliness from staff.

Responded 18 Mar 2020
Dear Michael,

Thank you for the review. As we are in the bush, the internet can be poor sometimes but that is something we can not always control. We apologise for our staff and will definitely look into that.

We are happy that you enjoyed your drive and stay with us.

Kind regards
Ubizane team

Living in this wilderness of Ubizane ,with the very friendly Zulu staff from Hluhluwe , gives you a wonderful impression of Zululand ,with its special nature and game . The smell ,the birds ,the wildlife seem to stand still - just for you ! The silence was amazing and the simplicity let you relax!

Our group of 20 had a great stay at the lodge. In a beautiful surrounding with animals and plants it is a lovely and relaxing place. The food was good too. I personally didn't like that the pool was very far away, about 400m to walk in bright sunlight no shade and 38°.
The bar closed too early. The barkeeper offered the last round at 9.10pm.

Loved the friendly atmosphere. The tree house was gorgeous and the bed very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very good. Would like to have stayed longer. Will definitely be staying there again.

The lodge is really nice, very attentive and helpful staff. Breakfast and dinner were very good.
We definitely recommend booking the game drive with the tree lodge, and maybe do the bush walk, too. Meghan did a great job!
Only improvement we could think of: a more ecofriendly and green way to pack the breakfast packages for the game drive. That would be the fifth star.

Very pleasant stay however I think the crocodile pond should be moved to another place to allow the animals in the park to come and drink in front of the dinning room as crocs are not very exciting to watch but loads of game would be and its perfectly located for enjoying your meal with the animals drinking rather than ugly corcs. The mini bar fridges need to be checked as 2 of the other guests fridges froze everything in them and my fridge didn't work at all. The food was below standard for the establishment but pleasant enough.
