I really would love to say many positive things about the Tree Lodge. Let’s start with what was OK: the facility, cleanliness, foodWhat needs to be improved: obviously management - bad organizational skills and no idea about what guests experience What was a disappointment: the game drive; no preparation, no usage of radio (with other guides), non inspired guide - sad activity that should be a highlight of the holiday
We had no particular expectations of this lodge, as we booked it purely as a mid-priced pit-stop on our South African driving holiday, but we were very pleasantly surprised.
Our room (on stilts) was clean and comfortable, with an excellent shower area. The restaurant buzzed at night with plenty of very happy guests enjoying a good buffet with simple but tasty dishes. Waiters were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was very good.
There are some oddities (crocodiles fenced in around a small pond, a forlorn and gloomy aviary) that give the place a slightly strange 1950s feel, but overall we enjoyed our stop here and would recommend it for its comfortable accommodation, pleasant staff and good food. We believe it offers excellent value.
My wife and I stayed in the treelodge in november. We liked our stay very much. Good and nice servive, beautiful surrounding and great lodges. We could make use of the swimmingpool of the safarilodge wich is next to the trellodges. A place to come back to!
The staff varied between quite pleasant and quite sullen but we did get whatever we needed when we asked.
The restaurant was actually quite good with a good view and plenty of choices on the buffet.
The room was adequate - the typical lack of attention to maintenance detail but it had everything we need and the cabins overlook a wonderful area of fever trees.
We were doing a self drive safari so didn't go into their reserve we went to Hluhluwe where there seemed to be quite a bit more in the way of big dame.
The staff made us feel that unwelcome that I will give just 1 bubble for this accomodation. Seemed that we were rather a burden than welcoming guests. So i will do everyone a favour and never go there anymore
