Summerhill Estate is a tranquil, delightful, and exceptional establishment. The staff are extremely helpful and the setting is beautiful. Delicious and personalized catering is provided by a resident chef trained in Germany. The rooms are gorgeous: spacious, bright and immaculate. A bar fridge with drinks is also available. An inviting, large lounge area with fire-place is available, and for breakfast, and out-door feel entertainment area is very hospitable.

A definite bucket list restaurant for those with a taste for fine food, attention to detail and a simply memorable dining experience. We went to celebrate our Anniversary and our experience was decadence from beginning to end. Johanna and Johannes have a passion for what they do and they do it with understated elegance. The ambience, decor and tableware has been hand picked and sourced with great thought and purpose, making the experience even more special. Thank you Johannes, Johanna, Christine and all the staff for a wonderful evening.

I called Summerhill Estate on Saturday afternoon for a room to check in that night for 4 nights. They were accommodating and provided us with a large room, with walk in closet and huge bathroom. Breakfasts are excellent and the service from the family is very friendly.

We ended at Summerhill by accident.
We arrived during load shedding (for those that do not what it means ask any South African). The personnel were supportive. Then after load shelling the substation blew.

Chef Johannes did amazing work in the kitchen and his wife (a wine expert) matched each tasting course perfectly. Futhermore the chef allowed us to share the testing menu.

We were upgraded to a larger room. Two comments are that the garden needs attention and the hotel needs a coat of paint.

Overall we had a relaxing time.

Thank you

The title says it all...

CULINARY;
The food, well, was great, meal after meal... original, tasty, made with local products, well served, what more can we ask for? Maybe some wine to go with it? Guess what, they have a really nice choice of wines to suit your palate and match each and every course... feel like an after dinner drink? Where, terrace? Bar area? They have a large choice of Brandy’s, liquors, whiskies... and of course local beers.
RETREAT;
The rooms are quiet, bright, quite unique like the restaurant, as a building ...The furniture, the atmosphere, it’s the perfect balance between casual and fancy. Everything is done to make you feel relaxed, comfy. All the personnel will adapt to your needs. It’s a home away from home, with an exotic touch to it... you could enjoy a glass of wine chatting with other guests, or the owners, sharing your own experiences, exchanging ideas or simply relaxing to some good tunes... The owner and her team will make your stay unforgettable...

This stay was quite an experience, with quite beautiful encounters...
