“Lovely restaurant for Durban Beach front”

Let's face it.....most Durban Beach front restaurants are lacking. (Take a lesson from Cape Town guys )

But The Joint is really doing very well in creating an atmosphere on the beachfront that you want to return to.

I have always had great service! And although I do think their meat dishes are a bit pricey, their side dishes and cocktails are great.

The restaurant is nice in look and feel. The decor and furniture is lovely. It faces the ocean and gets a great breeze the angled panel wall from it.
They didn't have the drinks listed on the extensive menu. Apparently, they were out of certain alcohols. Fine, but communicate it effectively. We had 3 different people come to explain what we couldn't have, so we changed our order each time. It was more the communication, problem solving and listening that was not happening.
The Bunny Chow didn't come in 2 sizes as listed on the menu as well.

The food we ordered wings biggy size, bunny chow only size, and the fish tacos were all good.

It was an unsatisfactory experience even though the food was good.

So we decided to visit The Joint Jazz Cafe for our work team building,
The atmosphere was amazing,It had this unique ethnic vibe with beer crates stacked up to make the wall, old coke bottles made into chandeliers, The food was amazing as well with affordable prices,We had the sticky wings and steamed bread which was delicious, The only downfall was the waiter didn't attend to us timeously and we had to go and call him ourselves numerous times.
But I would definitely go back to this place very soon.

the scenery and accessibility of the restaurant is key as we did not eat dinner at the hotel, thus it was very helpful.

Overlooking Wedge beach, The Joint is a hip, modern lounge with cool beats, good food and great drinks. The all glass walls look out onto the ocean. Why would you want to leave!
