Really lovely rooms, spacious and light and very clean.
The Hotel car guard was diligent in ensuring that our vehicle was parked safely and away from any high traffic areas.
The Reception staff were not very friendly but the breakfast service staff were efficient and eager to ensure service excellence

My flight from Durban to Johannesburg was exhausting in a late afternoon for a business seminar in the following morning.
How refreshing to be welcomed by Lerato at Protea Hotel, the check-in was lovely, refreshingly clean and relaxing room, not to mention an appetising buffet dinner with soft classical music.
Staff were so polite, friendly and professional throughout.
I will choose this again in my next visit to Roodepoort.

The noisiest hotel ever. Between the roof air conditioning that sounds like a industrial factory and the highway with windows that are not double glazed or even able to close properly I had to move rooms at 1130pm. Never again.

The hotel was good with friendly and competent staff rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good but the best part is the grounds outside take time to go for a walk by the river and bird watching

I recently visited this hotel for business. The service was great, and the hotel is located in a lovely environment.
I had a good experience. The only detractor was the bad shower experience. The shower is a hand device with low water pressure, so not a good experience at all.

amazing staff at the front desk. super friendly and extremely helpful. clean room. clean bathroom. Hotel is situated in a good location. easy access to the highway. breakfast worth the stay and if you lave early do offer a breakfast take away pack.
