Amazing hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. They looked after us like we were their own. Great setting and in a lovely part of town. Cute shopping centre just down the road and Hatfield Mall is easy walking distance.

We went for the rugby and Loftus was just at the bottom of the hill. Great value for $$.
Date of stay: March 2015
Room Tip: We were in the main house. Though an older place it is very well maintained.

Really well located and very friendly hosts in Mercia and Willem. This is an older place but charming and being able to mix with other guests at breakfast and in the common area made for a very pleasant stay. It is fairly close to the Union Buildings and there is a Cafe 41 within walking distance. Again it is a bit older with appliances to match but was comfortable and it still served all needs and had a bit of character.

Nice owner rooms need to be redone, overall the maintenance is lacking and the buildings pool and rooms are needing some TLC, owner friendly and breakfast was ok. Don't walk anywhere in the dark but I guess that's for all of Pretoria overall rating 3 stars.

We arrived in Pretoria in June enroute to a safari trip in southern Africa. Our bags had been lost in a huge computer malfunction in Heathrow. BA was in chaos. We had 3 days with Mercia and Willem and they did all they could do help us while providing comfortable and restorative accommodation. Mercia in particular really helped us by getting us on the Gautrain up to Johannesburg where we did eventually find our bags on the last day before we had to leave. We had in fact been making a shopping list to replace all our safari stuff and Mercia was helping us with suggestions about shopping etc In the end, all was well and we set off on our trip filled with gratitude and appreciation for the kindness of our hosts. I highly recommend this guesthouse for great value and overall experience if you are in Pretoria.

Room tip: The guest rooms are large and comfortable. Note that it can be cold in June and be prepared. We were in the pink room and our friends were in the one with the balcony-both nice rooms. You feel like you are staying over in a friend's lovely house which you are.

We are a retired French couple from Canada (Montreal) and traveled South Africa during 2 months renting 31 different lodgings. This one was # 2. This is a very beautiful house with pool and enjoyable common areas. We had a room in the extension beside the house called ‘’Colonial’’. Superb!! Excellent bathroom, comfortable big bed. No AC but the ceiling fan was enough. We ate there two nights and the wine and the food were excellent! The owner Murcia and her husband greeted us warmly and helped us a lot concerning things to do and directions. They welcomed us with fresh coffee. We highly recommend this lodging.

This place definitely deserves it's rating of 9.2. Situated in the Eastwood district of Pretoria, just 600 metres east of the Union Buildings and just up the hill from Cafe41, which I have also reviewed. The greeting was warm and friendly, the room was clean and bright, we stayed in Colonial 2, there was even a small fridge in the room. There was a king sized bed, very comfortable and well presented, it even had a 'top sheet', which is unusual these days, but all part of the exceptional service. No air con but there is a ceiling fan, which was more than adequate. We only stayed for one night, but I would definitely stay there again.

Room tip: All rooms are excellently presented.
