We fly from Sydney, Australia to have dinner at the Mosaic. Definitely worth the 14 hour plus trip to have this incredible experience. Just do it!

Award-winning chef Chantel Dartnall – voted SA’s Chef of the Year is one amazingly profound individual, humble, wise, witty and the perfect Host you could ever come across. She has enhanced South Africa’s status as a gourmet destination on the international culinary map, thanks to her meticulous approach to modern fine dining at the renowned Mosaic at the Orient. I took some of my Japanese visitors for a dining experience that blew their minds. You've got to visit this place to enjoy the experience of a lifetime.

There is a turnoff in the bushveld outside Pretoria and suddenly you are in a Moroccan dreamworld of towers, hidden courtyards, beautiful trees, gardens and waterfeatures. Exquisitely carved huge doors and bowls with flowers.
The theme continues into the restaurant with tables surrounded by etched glass and handpainted tiles.
Chantel Dartnall, the chef, introduced herself and explained the menu in a warm, relaxed informal manner.
We chose the market degustation menu with wine pairing, and what a dinner !!
Each and every course exquisitely prepared and presented, with breads, flavoured butters, infused teas, magnificent wines and outstanding service. For me the standout dishes were mushroom and truffle risotto, suckling pig and the Rocamadour dessert, all of which were wonderful, with rich complex layers of flavour.
Overall a memorable experience !!
