The Good
The new owners of the old Grace Hotel have managed to strike a fine balance between old world charm and giving the hotel a modern feel to it. Beautiful art and photos adorn the walls.
The Bad
When Level4 restaurant dissapointed on our first night I thought we may have just been unlucky, but when we ate a bland breakfast the next morning it confirmed that the kitchen was not up to scratch.
The Good to Know
The even number rooms have the best views and being north facing soak up the sun during the right time of day....very pleasant unless the antiquated AC is out of order as it was during our stay.

Room Tip: The even number rooms have the best views and being north facing soak up the sun during the right ti...

Do I need mini chocolates matched to coffee pods? Do I need a personal coffee machine? Do I need jars full of sweets, nuts and fruit dainties? Do I need a candle for when I have a bath? Do I need a three course breakfast? Do I need a range of TWG tea? And sugar cubes?

The answer is no.

But do I want everything mentioned above? Damn straight I do.

54 on Bath pays attention to every detail. From the protea that comes with your room services, to the fact that you can rent a gym bag from reception, incase you forgot yours. And the food - don't get me started on the food.

While Joburg isn't the most exciting place for me to stay (because it means work), 54 on Bath makes it very enjoyable.

Room Tip: It's Joburg. The higher up you are, the better city view you will have. Not that it matters, the...

We needed to stop in Jo'Burg for one night in between Kruger and Vic falls. This hotel was luxurious and was just what we needed after being in the bush. We stayed in room 75 and it had everything we needed and more! 1 1/2 baths, comfy bed, living room and a large soaking tub. We had dinner at "Level 4" restaurant and it was delicious and relaxing. The location was great too. It was connected to the huge Rosebank mall by a sky mall and I felt safe and secure the whole time. Wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Room 75 was amazing.

The hotel has a great staff, and is beautifully furnished. Room was perfect, and the connection to the Mall was both interesting and very convenient. We spent two nights at the hotel and were with an Odysseys tour.

We spent two nights at 54 on Bath in May. The hotel is very well located, with connectivity to Rosebank Mall, which has a number of nice restaurants.

The staff, without exception, were fantastic - extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The only negative was the airconditioner chiller seems to be kept off in the winter - we found the room got a little stuffy in the middle of the night - however we were very comfortable after opening the window.

Breakfast which was include in our package is served in the charming restaurant on the fourth floor, and was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the brownies that were provided as put of the turn down service at night.
