This museum covers this sad time very well. Allow yourself a day to see it as it is very thorough and requires a lot of reading. We only had about three hours and it wasn’t nearly enough time.

Hello, please be aware there is a group of thief acting just outside the museum of the appartheid. I stopped at the gaz station just next door to get some water and get stolen from an organised group of 6 men at the ATM in the sasol gaz station of northern pkwy next to the Museum appartheid.

Great setup and good facts. Gives a multi-layered experience without being too much.

Had gone on the hop off hop on tour but Would probably go there in future on its own. It was too time stressful on the tour. I could’ve literally spent the whole day there.
Definitely worth the uber ride to go there in isolation.

If this museum does not bring tears to your eyes then you need to walk back through very slowly and think again. It is very humbling to wander through, learning the history of what really happened - what you see in the news if you are a foreigner was only the tip of the iceberg. The museum takes you on a journey, both personal and through such a tumultuous time in history. The imagery is great, bold and true. You will also learn things about Mandela which will surprise you, but also really, really show you what he was about. I am glad that I made the time to visit this place and will never forget it.

It’s probably not good to say that you enjoy like this as it represents a bleak period in history. However, it is worth a visit.

The exhibits are well presented and tell the story. Due to time constraints we probably didn’t stay long enough to do justice to the museum as it is very extensive.
