Earlier this month, we enjoyed a four-night stay at the Marriott Melrose Arch. The check-in staff were exceptionally cheerful and helpful, providing a warm and welcoming start to our stay.

The property was relatively new, the rooms really spacious with very comfortable beds, high-quality linen and all the necessary amenities needed for our stay. The bathroom was large, clean, and had good towels.

The in-house restaurant offered a varied menu and breakfast was delightful. The service staff, along with Chef Escobar, were outstanding, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. Chef Escobar even assisted with menu choices and followed up to ensure we were pleased with our meals.

The hotel's location was ideal, situated in a self-contained gated community in Johannesburg, providing an extremely safe environment. We felt really safe walking around late every night, exploring the numerous bars and restaurants in Melrose Arch. Additionally, there is a shopping strip and mall just five minutes from the hotel, which hosts a weekend market.

The hotel also offers a private car service for trips to Rosebank or other areas, albeit at a higher cost than Uber. However, it is a secure option for those needing transportation.

Overall, our experience at the Marriott Melrose Arch was excellent and we highly recommend it for its superb service, comfortable accommodation and prime location.

Great, relative new property in the well secured and protected area of Mellrose Arch. What really makes the difference also here is the staffmembers, how friendly and well trained they are. Great value for money btw. Great facilities in terms of food & drinks also, highly recommend to make this your hotel destination in the J-Burg area

A very lovely and safe hotel for a single female traveller. Restaurants are plentiful. Hotel is very clean with THE most comfortable beds! Gym is huge and the pool is great with lots of loungers. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I’ll definitely return.

It is a modern hotel with spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. The area is well protected and great for shopping, dining etc. Would absolutely stay there again. Air condition was really quiet, an absolute advantage. Food was also great and the breakfast service is highly recommended.

This hotel is located in the very exclusive Melrose Arch neighborhood, with plenty of shopping and dining options walkable within the confinement of the secured gated roads. Please still exercise caution as violent crime still does occur inside these secured areas, dont let your guard down and never walk alone as a tourist. Hotel itself is a very modern and comfortable hotel featuring a large welcoming lobby and multiple dining and bar areas. Rooms themselves are large and well kept. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms nicely appointed. Having stayed here multiple times, I always have a nice stay. My last stay my heat did not work in my room and maintenance came to look at circuitry behind wall, it did not fix it and a space heater was brought up to me but unfortunately kept stopping and starting making it impossible to sleep and by 3am, instead of being offered a new room, I had to practically beg to switch rooms, and finally got someone to help me move. Would have expected the night shift to follow up with their management team for the morning to offer some type of compensation, but that never happened, and I just let it go. This is an excellent choice when staying in Johannesburg, I would still highly recommend it.

Stayed here for two nights before going on safari. It was a nice room, however, attached to this property is the Executive suites and for the same cost you can get a bigger room and an in room washer and dryer so check availability. We got an amazing welcome by the front desk staff before they even knew that we were platinum elite members. Everyone was really professional and helpful. Let’s talk M Club. Had so much potential but couldn’t get it together. They were never ready to open. The coffee machine would not be ready first thing in the morning, the cream was never filled up, stirrers not available. COME ON! What do most people want at 6:30AM? Coffee! No silver ware or cups on tables on time. There were nice choices for breakfast but food didn’t get put out on time, ever. For those of us who want to get out early to see the city, it was frustrating. The wine in the evening was delicious with lots of options. Also, very substantial food choices in the evening. I would stay here again, for sure, but the property needs to up its game in the lounge and it would be so easy to correct these few things!
