My husband and I went on the morning game drive and share the breakfast picnic afterwards. Our guide, Andre, was very informative, answering ever questions each of us had. The land is well maintained giving you the feeling you are deep within the bush veld. This drive is great for reconnecting with nature. The picnic afterwards was amazing, it is really a three hour eating experience. My compliments to the kitchen, they never disappoint.

Room tip: Their eco rooms sound amazing.

beautiful scenery, a beautiful place overlooking the mountains and valleys of the south of Johannesburg, would ask the restaurant to up their game on breakfast cuisine as we were not totally satisfied with the food.

We visited Thaba Eco Hotel a few years ago, and it already was a great place. The improvements since then has been noticeable. The gardens and surroundings have been planted with indigenous plants in keeping with the surroundings and is magnificent. The breakfast buffet is gorgeous with both local and international food. The head chef treated us with his own creations from local produce in the evening. Service is great with friendly and knowledgeable staff all around. Everyone just want to help. The game drive was very rewarding with a good selection of wild life and a nature reserve that is in excellent condition. Watching the rock badgers from our hotel balcony running around with their babies in tow was a real treat. If in doubt - just go, you will not be disappointed.

Stayed over on Christmas Eve, The hotel has been on my list to check out for a while. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Check-in and service from hotel is amazing. The room is luxurious, spacious well kitted out and offers spectacular views of the nature reserve , we even got to see some Dassies just below our balcony.

This hotel is a good escape from the concrete jungle of the North and makes for a tranquil / bush experience plus all the comforts and luxuries.

The hotel offered complimentary mini bar and snacks.

In Room Dining Service could be improved, Dinner was cold by the time it got to us. The dessert we ordered (Chocolate brownies) tasted very stale unfortunately that was a let down. The hotel does have a restaurant on site where we have eaten on previous occasion, we had just opted for the room service option.

What I did not like:
There had been a wedding going on, on Christmas Eve, Guests/ kids of wedding party very noisy around the hotel rooms, Also found it distasteful seeing some of the guests parked in the hotel parking area drinking / Littering when there is a bar/ restaurant on site. This is after all a 4 star establishment not a park/motel , This can be damaging to the hotel reputation for guests checking in having to walk past a drunken wedding party and takes away from the true Thaba experience.

We had Breakfast on Christmas day at the restaurant, Great spread and variety of food. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Would I go back - Yes 🖒In general thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the hotel facilities.
