Best choice ever to stay here

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 16 Apr 2020
I stayed at Amanzi for two months and wanted to bring along two kittens - not the normal request I guess .... however, Pam and Rob - amazing hosts that they are - welcomed me and my fluffs with open arms. We had our own cottage with a private garden and they happily added some more fencing to keep the kittens in my area. The cottage was roomy, fully equipped and self-contained with a private patio which was perfect for the summer weather in ZA. Also perfect for my two month stay as I had my own "home" for the period. The staff were helpful and efficient and eager to meet any request. Pam and Rob are so warm and welcoming run a lovely establishment set in gorgeous tranquil gardens - I would recommend them highly to anyone for both a short or longer term stay!
Date of stay: January 2020
Room Tip: Several cottages available which is great if you need to stay for longer ...

Dear Marianne
Thank you so much for writing such a lovely review. We loved having you and the two gorrrrrrgeous kitties staying with us. It was a treat! It was fun to watch them grow in the two months and become more adventurous. I had never seen (or heard of) Siberian Forrest cats before! Good to know for the hypoallergenic folk that these cats do not cause allergies. Thank you for your positive comments about the Silver Birch cottage, and so pleased the space and garden worked well for you and the two fluffs! Wishing you lots of years of joy with the two fluffs 😊 warm regards from Pam, Rob and the Amanzi team

We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely guesthouse. Pam and Rob were warm, friendly and so hospitable. The guesthouse is set in a lush garden with the peaceful sound of water fountains/ponds. Very relaxing. A lovely pool with a sun deck to enjoy the quiet peaceful neighborhood. Safe, secure and very convenient to many of Joburg's top restaurants, shopping malls, galleries and parks. The rooms are well appointed, spacious with all amenities taken care of and super comfy beds and linen. Great WIFI (I was travelling with a teenager!) and full DSTV. Would highly recommend.

Room tip: We stayed in an upstairs room which was very private, quiet and had a lovely view of the beautiful garden

Due to personal reasons, I needed a place to stay at short notice back in September ‘18. By coincidence and my luck, I did find Amanzi guesthouse. I’ve ended up staying there for almost a year and a half and I’ve never made a better travel decision than ending up there. Amanzi is so much more than just another guesthouse. I did find there a true new home with the fantastic people running the place, Rob and Pam. During that extended period we have become like family and friends at the same time.
The location of the place is excellent because it’s close the Hyde Park, Rosebank and Sandton, while once inside the gates, you feel like being out in the bush because it’s so peaceful.
The gardens are stunning, the pool is great, the dogs lovely and the breakfast superb.
I will miss not being there and I am convinced anyone staying there will feel the same about Amanzi guesthouse and their hosts.
Many thanks for putting up with me for such a long time!

Dear Jeroen
We also were the lucky ones that you found us! We have enjoyed getting to know you over the last year and a half, and you will always be like family, plus a good friend. Thank you for your generous words about Amanzi - I chuckled about your description of feeling like you are in the bush when you are inside. It does amaze me how lucky we are that the property has such a peaceful feeling. I am glad you made such good use of the pool during your months here. The dogs miss you. We miss you!
We wish you well for the next steps of your journey!

The Amanzi is a very warm and friendly green oasis in Craighall Park. Pam and Rob have created a wonderful place which makes you feel home away from home from day one. I stayed in one of the cottages for 7 months. The setup is such that there is the right balance having privacy and space while having the ability to meet and interact with other guests and staff. The staff is very helpful with anything you might need. The breakfast is a great start of the day, Deli and Thabang are doing a great job preparing a tasty hot breakfast (yummy mushrooms with the scrambled eggs). The cottage was cleaned every day, even the dishes were taken care of when I forgot. Lena was very careful with my dresses and other laundry. So I felt very spoilt. And the sun deck is a great place to have a drink and unwind. The Delta Park and the SPAR (together with some other shops) are at walking distance. So are a few neighborhood cafes and restaurants. Furthermore, Rosebank and Hyde Park corner are close, too. Overall, a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

Thank you for writing such a lovely review - really so happy that you felt comfortable and at home at Amanzi - we miss you - after your 7 month stay with us!! It was great to have some catch ups on the deck, and get to know you. Thank you also for writing how central and convenient Amanzi is situated for the Park, shops and restaurants. We love being close to these facilities, yet quiet...
Wishing you everything of the best, and plenty of new adventures!

I recently enjoyed 2 incredible days of rest and serious relaxation at the beautiful Amanzi Guest House. After a busy year, I wanted to spend the time unwinding and indeed I did just that in this beautiful, green and peaceful urban oasis. From start to finish I was made to feel like part of the family - Pam and Rob were fabulous hosts, friendly but not intrusive at all - and the guesthouse dogs Max and Shadow were as welcoming as their owners. I slept in and enjoyed tasty breakfasts, featuring homemade muesli, freshly made hot breakfasts and tasty baked treats too. The property is quiet and chilling by the pool with a book, or on the upstairs deck watching the beautiful sunsets was a balm to my tired soul. Highly recommend Amanzi for a short or long term stay, they are perfectly located and close to shops, Sandton, Rosebank areas. Your home away from home in Craighall Park.

We enjoyed meeting you and thank you for writing such a lovely review. So pleased you rested and relaxed and enjoyed your stay with us. I think we are very lucky here, as its hard to believe that the buzz of the city is close by. Craighall Park is known for its convenience - close to Hyde Park shops, a few kilometres from Rosebank, yet down the road, is Delta Park, where we so enjoy a daily walk with the dogs. Max and Shadow say "Woof" and we look forward to another stay when you need relax and unwind.
Warm regards from all of us at Amanzi
