We stayed over at the Southern Sun Bloemfontein on our return road trip to Johannesburg. The entire experience from check in to checkout was great. They should just improve the turn around time for coffee at breakfast.... We will consider staying there again.

As we arrived tired trying to check in the receptionist told us about the new rules so therefore our booking had to be changed because my mother in law has booked for us with her membership card however we thought we might as well register ours and it was successful what I fail to understand why would the lady assisting us rather focus on the positive of telling us of our options instead of focusing on negative. The room was clean but the pillow cases were smelling so bad you could tell they did not change the pillows. Was so disappointed.

Friendly check in staff and the breakfast people were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very clean and next to the mall which helped us to go to do shopping without driving by just walking. We enjoyed the swimming and the most important fact for me was the gym. Dinner was supperb.

My family stayed over for one night on our way back to Gauteng. The check in and check out was efficient. We were offered a room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard and swimming pool, which was good as my two young children had a bit more space to move about. The room was clean. The breakfast buffet offered a decent variety of dishes and pastries. The highlight of the hotel is the courtyard. It is a beautiful, large area with a very good sized pool to remove you from the humdrum of the city.
However, there were a couple of service related aspects which were not up to standard. During the hour we spent swimming and lounging outside in the courtyard, we were not offered any service. We were also not advised on the location of the swimming towels. There were a lack of cleanliness in the hallways with empty plates and glasses spending the night on the carpet in front of some rooms. Quick service issues to resolve, so not a big problem I trust.
We enjoyed the stay and recommend the hotel as an overnight oasis for the weary traveller.

My family and I had a great time here. Should we could have stayed longer. The pools were clean and it is right next to Mimosa mall. We were able to watch a late night movie and then walk back to our room.
