“The Mill at The Crags near Plettenberg Bay”
Reviewed 29 March 2012

The attraction for us to visit The Mill was the Porcupine Ceramics. The line of animals and ceramic art was the draw. It was not out of our way and the short tour and wide range of products was excellent. Items are packaged in a heavy foam casing so they are well protected while traveling.

The Mill is worth a stop as it also carries a complete line of Intshiba Ceramic dishes from Bredasdorp. They are also different and charming. Be careful to avoid the counterfeit manufacturer at the Albert & Victoria Waterfront who leaves the "T" out of the signiture and not only creates an inferior line but deprives the township women who work so hard at creating Intshiba products of income.

The Mill also carries Mohair products, leather and soaps. A huge selection of Socks for all types of use is also available. A well above average stop along a route full of "Crafts" stores.

“Plettenberg Bay is a fantastic beach holiday with plenty attractions”
Reviewed 21 April 2010

Whilst travelling in South Africa, I read about a self drive route from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth on www.showme.co.za/plett. The route was absolutely amazing, and told us about all the interesting things to do along the way.
We arrived at Plettenberg Bay, and although we had only planned to overnight, there were just so many things to do. The beaches are white, sandy and fantastic for swimming or body boarding and the weather was excellent.
The town is sophisticated with great restaurants and there are some really excellent wildlife sanctuaries. We extended our trip by a few days and had a blast.
This town is a real gem, and we recommend it thoroughly for a stop on the Garden Route.
Also, if you are thinking of doing a driving tour in S.A. then the information on the above website is awesome.

“My favourite place in South Africa cape garden route”
Reviewed 28 March 2010

We just recently returned from a trip from South Africa and the highlight undoubtedly was Plettenberg Bay. We planned to only spent one night there but end up staying 6 nights and it was too short. It has absolutely everything, big 7 yes big five with whales and sharks we were so blessed we had spectacular sightings of Orcas, killer whales wilst being there, hundreds of dolphins, visited a number of animal sancuataries especially the cheetah sanctuary was brilliant and inspiring. We went for an evening walk with two of the younger cheetah and it was an inspirational experience. They feature many of the smaller cat species so difficult to see in their wild habitat!!!!!
Food wise also great experiences from the Market on Main street to Enrico's italian restaurant on the Keurboom strand rocks all just simply great. Also had time to visit the local communities and went on a town walk in Kranshoek and met the descendents from the Griqua tribe, very friendly and had tea and cookies with local residents. Also tourism visitor information office in Main street must be on of the most impressive tourisminfo offices ever visited with beautiful pictures on display depicting the destination. So all and all simply inspiring as we also traveled with inspiringafrica who arranged our trip. A responsible tour operator outfit really great cannot wait to visit again next year.
