Exceptional stay made possible by always most willing to please staff. Best buffet breakfast we’ve had in our travels.

Position of the hotel is the centre of the village’s buzz. Top deck pool has views forever. Under ground parking direct to room via access controlled lift. Turndown service is spot on with my favourite good night dark chocolates. We will definitely be back. Our daughter and family stayed too in nearby rooms, making for the cherry on top.

Please avoid going to Plett Quarter. Overpriced tiny rooms and poor managenent. The rooms advertised with 27m2 are not more than 17m2, but management insisted on its view. Nothing they would do to make us feel a bit more happy. So we stayed in the cupboard for $200 a night, and yet had to pay additionally for the breakfast cappuchino.
Rooms are ok but the place is noisy and doors slam very loud when your neighbours come home. Very poor for new hotel.

Dear Christian,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We sincerely apologise for the disappointment you experienced during your stay at Plett Quarter Hotel. Your insights are invaluable as we continually strive to improve our services.

I'm happy to advise that thanks to feedback like yours, we have reviewed our costings for 'speciality coffees' at breakfast and these will no longer be an additional cost, but something that is included in your breakfast rate.

We regret any confusion regarding room size discrepancy. The room you stayed in, including the balcony, is 27m2 however the footprint of the room itself is smaller. We understand the importance of accurate information and thanks to your valuable feedback, we have removed the size of the balcony from the overall room size in out listings. Our commitment is to provide transparent and reliable information to our guests and to remove any confusion.

We also apologise for the noise disturbances and the inconvenience caused by slamming doors. We are actively addressing these issues to ensure a more peaceful environment for our guests. The pop-up nightclub nearby has closed indefinitely and will no longer be prove to be a noise issue to guests.

We appreciate your patience while we work through the teething issues of opening a brand new hotel in busy summer season in Plett. On your next stay, we'd love for you to try out our luxury suites or 2 or 3 bedroom apartments which are far more spacious and may be more to your liking than our entry-level standard room.

I am confident that you will be pleasantly surprised by a much improved product on your next stay, and all recent guest feedback has been very positive.

Until then, take care.

Kind regards,

Victor

The experience we had was awesome. The staff are well trained and has much respect for their guests. We enjoyed the stay. The staff met all our needs at all times. Thank you to your staff. They made our stay extremely pleasant.

On your menu; starters you can look at a better variety. The main menu also a bigger and better selection would be great. Good food overall.

Beautiful hotel. Brand new so a few things to be sorted out but excellent staff, great views and good excellent food. Breakfast was ala carte and exceptional.
Should have booked a bigger room for a family stay. Water temperature was a bit inconsistent aswell. All in all though great stay. Friendly staff centrally located and very convenient. Will definitely return.

I should stress that the staff were all very kind and motivated, no complaints there

First of all it’s not built as a hotel. It’s an apartment building with some hotel rooms in it. The apartments have the sea view. The large hotel rooms facing the street are comfortable but very noisy (especially on the weekend). The small rooms are in the basement, with a sliding window to a small terrace in the atrium which runs the length of the building. All staff, guests and apartment owners circulate in the atrium, and each small room shares a corridor with 3 other rooms, so the small rooms are incredibly noisy — not for anyone except a very heavy sleeper. There is nowhere to stop when unloading, but there is secure parking in the basement

One thing I really dislike is when hotels prioritise walk-ins over guests. Here, the hotel restaurant is mostly focused on passers-by. Lots of people walk in from the street, meaning it is difficult to get a table and the service is very slow. It is not even possible to reserve a table for breakfast, so we had a 45-minute wait for a table. Dinner was disorganised and the food was disappointing. Breakfast was extremely disorganised and slow, but the food was pretty good. Theoretically hotel guests can eat breakfast by the pool, but in reality there was no waiter

The rooftop pool seems to attract non-guests; when we were there a large and noisy group had taken all the chairs and were drinking beer they had brought with them

There is also only one lift, which is insufficient for the size of the building

Overall I am not sure what the concept is — but the result is that hotel guests definitely feel like the lowest priority

Room tip: All the rooms are noisy

Hi there Travel Taami.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your recent stay with us. We sincerely appreciate your constructive comments and want to express our gratitude for acknowledging the efforts of our kind and motivated staff.

We would like to address the feedback of our building being an apartment building as we do have to disagree with this sentiment. You are correct that there are a few apartments in the Plett Quarter building, but these are far outnumbered by the hotel rooms. Further to this, the apartments are available to rent to guests, and thus fall under the 'hotel' portfolio.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused by the noise levels. The nearby pop-up nightclub that was open for Plett's busy summer season has closed permanently, and a much quieter experience for our guests is the order of the day.

There is indeed a loading bay outside the hotel, but we do apologise if this was not sufficiently visible, we will explore more signage as an option to clear up any confusion.

Regarding restaurant operations, we hear your concerns and are working to ensure a better balance between walk-ins and hotel guests, providing a more seamless dining experience. We're so happy to hear the food quality of your breakfast was good, and I'm happy to advise that our food & beverage manager has put great effort into improving our dinner offering since your stay.

The feedback regarding the rooftop pool has been noted, and we're implementing measures to ensure it remains a tranquil space for guests only.

Your feedback is crucial in refining our brand new product, and we want to assure you that steps are being taken to make significant improvements. We are thus very grateful to you for taking the time to provide us with such valuable insights.

I would love to personally welcome you back one day, so you can enjoy all these improvements and better your memory of our special hotel.

Kind regards,

Victor

In a prime location in Plettenberg Bay. Rooms with partial sea views are in the basement, but rooms are beautiful and very large. Equipped with coffee machine, kettle and television. The pool deck is incredible! A view over the whole bay. The breakfast and dinner are extremely tasty. The staff very accommodating and friendly. The hotel is a recommendation, we would like to come back. Small improvement: The room doors have to be quieter when you close them.
