We spent 2 nights here with our friends. Rooms were beautifully laid out and very spacious along with a great bathroom, dressing room area, huge bath and a his and hers clothing closet. Bed very comfortable, lovely lounge area. Private pool and outside shower. Underfloor heating. Bar fridge. Safe in the room. No TV (which is great). Has WiFi. Local hippos put on a great display. We also saw various type of buck, birds and elephant, as well as lion. Not quite the Kruger but well worth the visit. It was our wedding anniversary we were very well treated - cake after dinner which we shared with the other guests. Dancing children in traditional clothing. After dinner on returning to our room the bath had been run and was filled with rose petals. Very romantic. Also has massage facilities.

Room Tip: Great introduction to the bush and very romantic

WOW. What an amazing two nights. We had such a great time at Kichaka. Jason, our guide, was well-informed, fun and knew how to find the best animals! We saw lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras, warthogs, hippos, rhinos, antelopes of all types, monkeys, I could go on.

We had such fun on the drives and then the food was delicious. We were so catered after at all times. Cannot recommend more highly.

We visited Kichaka as our first stop on our honeymoon - and we couldn't be more pleased with our choice. We stayed for 4 nights, and each one was magical.

Lodge: The lodge itself is beautiful. Made up of one main building which hosts the communal bar, dining room, living room and library. There is also a pool and outdoor eating areas. It overlooks a watering holes, which animals frequent (we saw elephants, hippos and waterhogs drink water from the hole).
There are 10 rooms in total. Each its own lodge, completely private and separate from the others. We stayed in Coral, which overlooked the watering hole (not all rooms do). Coral was magnificent - one big room separated into three area (a living room, the bedroom and the bathroom). It had its own balcony and plunge pool. The only downside is that none of the pools were heated and because we visited in winter, it meant we couldn't use the pools.

Service and food: only one word needed: phenomenal. All staff were attentive but allowed you privacy. There was also someone on hand to help when you needed, otherwise you were left to enjoy the tranquillity of the lodge.
You never go hungry at Kichaka. You are fed three big meals, and plus snacks on the two safaris each day and drinks in abundance. Bliss!

Safari: Ben was our ranger, and he made the trip even more special. Ben's knowledge was exceptional. He was personable and always enthusiastic. It was never too early or too late for Ben to be on his best form. We saw many animals (the only two we didnt see were cheetahs and leopards). An added bonus: on the way back to the lodge one night after our evening safari, Ben stopped and showed us the stars and the planets.

We wouldn't hesitate to return if we ever get the chance again.

Room Tip: Stay in a room overlooking the watering hole

We visited Kichaka to celebrate our 20th anniversary and it was an experience of a lifetime. From the point of arrival to departure we were treated like royalty. The staff are so amazing and accommodating. We were so spoiled for our anniversary, the staff ran a bubble bath full of rose petals and scattered petals on our bed and left us a bottle of champagne on ice. The food was amazing and there was so much of it on offer for the all inclusive price! I also had several spa treatments and they were wonderful and relaxing. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated and had an amazing view of the watering hole. We could hear lions roar from our veranda. It was quite spectacular and ever so romantic. Our guide Jonty did his utmost to make sure we saw all of the game we wanted to see and all of the staff were brilliant. An experience of a lifetime. I have blogged about our trip on Wordpress, my blog name is KittenInTheCity.
