I have been a guest at your B&B on a monthly basis for more than two years. As a woman travelling on her own and spending two to three weeks (or part thereof) away from home Oak Hampton has really become my home from home.
From the “breakfast team” providing a warm, friendly and very fulfilling start to the day to the ground and housekeeping staff who maintain the facilities and warmth, personal service, care and consideration you both show your guests is beyond description. – a huge thank you.
Oakhampton is well situated, within easy driving and walking distance from facilities one needs for shopping or entertainment and meals.
The beds are “a dream, the lush gardens provide the background and space to “chill” or take if preferred one can take a dip in the pool if the heat gets to you. A highly recommended venue in value for money and comfort.

My first stay and found the room comfortable with all the basics in place, coffee, tea, soap, a few DSTV channels, etc. The breakfast was good, nothing exceptional the normal found in most B&B's. Very well located and peaceful, owners are very friendly and helpful. Bit baffled as to how they got 4 Stars though it is more a 3 Star establishment. I will stay again.

Room Tip: Get one of the newer rooms.

Over the years I have stayed at the Oakhampton many times. The owners are very friendly. Wonderful gardens. Various cottage type rooms available, some newer and nicer than others but all very comfortable and equipped with a fridge. The breakfast is very nice and filling. It is also situated close to restaurants and shops. Definitely highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms good.

I have been to Oakhampton B&B on a few occasions and have always revelled in the peaceful, sumptuous garden atmosphere. Whilst the accommodation itself may not always please everybody - I found it much more than adequate - the accommodation is intrinsic to the ambience. Breakfasts are hearty and filling, so one is able to stock up till lunch time quite easily. The establishment is readily accessible from the city being located off the first exit and close to the highway. In addition, there are some restaurants close to the B&B. And then, the hosts. What wonderful people they are! Oakhampton is certainly my first choice in East London - but it is also, sadly, popular; early reservations are thus essential.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms at the front of the main house are fantastic while the cottage affords elbow room to spare.

The owners try hard, but some of the rooms could do with a little TLC. Our room - one of the cottages - smelt mouldy and the bathrooms could have done with a good clean and perhaps a refurbishment. The floor had some mats on it that looked suspicious. We did see other rooms that were much nicer and had new bathrooms, so I would suggest that you ask for a room with a new bathroom. The location is OK - close to the highway - and easy to find. The garden is very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room
