Fine french dining in evening. Excellent breakfast buffet. Feed the fish from your table. Look for the pair of manta rays that swim by occasionally.

The ambiance is what makes this place great. We dined here for breakfast every morning. The food was okay and the chefs serving it weren't as friendly as the other staff on the island. However, watching the fish and rays swim right next to you was wonderful! It made up for the mediocre fare. They even have fish food, and the little guys go nuts for it! We had dinner here one night and it was romantic and nice to see the action below, at night. The wine selection is pretty good, I believe because they are attached to a wine bar. The old world wines were reasonably priced, which was a treat. Boy, those mornings of enjoying breakfast, while taking in the incredible view were just so full of excitement and promise for an incredible day. I do recommend checking this place out for the great backdrop.

With our half board we had breakfast and dinner at the Le Tipanie. The place is very nice...you can have a table at the lagoon or on the patio with a very nice view in the morning. The variety at breakfast was great....great fresh fruit options. Three course dinner was a great choice, well we had four out of five nights at the Le Tipanie....this explains all.

The Le Tipanie restaurant has a fantastic buffet breakfast with freshly prepared to order omelets, crepes and waffles. There are extensive cold cuts, french cheeses, and fresh fruits with fresh squeezed fruit juice. This is really one of the most healthy breakfasts which I have also felt was an indulgence. You can buy fish pellets (please don't feed the fish bread) and see hundreds of colorful tropical fish a few feet from your table. For dinner they have an incredibly romantic setting outside by the pool and looking towards the mountains of Bora Bora. If you prefer to sit inside you can also have romantic views of the lit lagoon. All our dinners here were excellent and the desserts decadent. We weighed 10 pounds more after our visit. The wine did not seem to have been optimally stored or shipped as some of the wine was a bit off. No problems, as there are great cocktails and local beer.

During our stay at Le Meridien last month, we had breakfast and dinner several times at Le Tipanie. Staff was very attentive and the food was excellent. The breakfast buffet was good with food choices from around the world. Dinner was more formal with a nice balance of French cuisine and traditional island fare. As with most places on Bora Bora, you need to get used to being served on "Island Time", but the views and the lagoon full of tropical reef fish and rays helped pass the time.
