small, public beach. Signage not obvious. Most beautiful beach I've been to. No amenities outside of a public restroom.

We stayed right next door to Matira Beach and walked the beach several times. It's a great place to find calm, shallow water for swimming, but there's not much to see for snorkeling. It's also a great place for sun bathing closer to Matira point. The beach was fairly quiet most of the time, not a lot of people. The food shops were hit-or-miss in whether they were open, but we did find reasonably priced food to eat along the beach. The further away from Matira Point we walked, the more likely we were to encounter dogs and their poo, so it was better to stay on the beach nearer to the Intercontinental Le Moana.

The water here is absolutely beautiful and enticing. The white sand beaches provide the perfect foreground to the turquoise waters. We stopped by here during our 4x4 tour with Vavau and captured some great photos on the beach! If you're staying in the resorts nearby, this is the best spot to watch the sunset. It's convenient to the resorts and fun to walk around!

Beautiful beach with clear water. The problem is that the water is very shallow and the seabed is covered with innumerable pieces of broken corals. So if you want to reach the deep water, you must walk a long distance stepping on the corals and you may cut your feet as some of them are very sharp.
There are open buses at the port which transport people to the beach, very often. You must know where exactly you want to swim because some of the buses stop at the beginning of the beach. There are restaurants there but as most of the buses stop to the other end of the beach, the possibilities to find a bus there for the return back to the port, aren't so good.
At the end of the beach, there is a huge open hut for shade, free of charge.
Different sport activities are available. Snorkeling isn't interesting here, because of the swallow water and yet we saw in it a small sting ray!
