Just back from a great holiday at Dalyan staying in the Hotel Calypso Plus.
This hotel has about 30 rooms.

For the price we paid on a bed and breakfast I cant complain about anything, however if I paid the full price I would have been a bit disappointed.
Our main issue was the very basic breakfast and the fact that half of the food was it left uncovered and allowed the flies to get access.
We saved £80 on the full B&B price for the 2 of us for the week so even if we chose to eat our breakfast out in the town it would still have not cost us the £80 we saved.
Instead of eating elsewhere we had a freshly made omelete with cheese and ham every day which were very filling.

The highlight of eating at the hotel for breakfast is that we saw turtles 6 feet away every morning, not to mention hundreds of fish, herons, kingfisher (that I think lives under the breakfast decking area). There were between 2 & 3 large turtles at breakfast with us every morning, so eating there was well worth it.

We ate a few meals at the hotel and they very nice.

Pool - very nice we pool

Staff - nice staff very keen to help with anything

Room - very basic but perfectly ok for the price.

Bar - there are 2 bars, one at the pool and one by the river. I thought the price of drink would have been a bit less everywhere. We liked the raki which was 25 Lira (£3.50 with the exchange rate at £1 to 7 Lira), oh and then they charge you for water to mix with it. A glass of wine is 16 Lira so just over £2 for a glass.

WOULD I GO BACK TO THE CALYPSO PLUS?
Yes I would certainly go back and will be recomoending it to my family.
Dont know what it is like in the height of the season but we were there mid October and it was very quiet which suited us perfectly!
Dalyan is a beautiful area and we will be back.

Dalyan travel tips -
Best place to get Lira, the post office gave us the best rate by about 0.15Lira more than anywhere esle. If you need more when the post office is closed, there is a jewellery shop that exchanges money all day and night which is OK, we used it a few times at night.

River taxi - opposite the mosque you can get a water taxi to the beach, this is a great trip as it is about 45 minute boat trip down the snaking river down to the beach for a return price of 15 lira (£2 a head). There are boats every 15 to 30mins depending how many people are there. THe beach is about 4k long and was deserted if you walk away from the taxi boat drop of point.

Eating out - There are hundreds of paces to eat in Dalyan. I like to experience local food when on holiday. My advice on this is to eat one street back from the main streets as this is where you find the locals eating. Not only is this more traditional, but it also costs a bit less. A maincourse and a glass of wine was about £9 a head.

Rowing boat taxi - there is a small rowing boat that takes you over the river (5lira each for a 200m return trip) where you can walk the 2k up to the very impressive ruins of Kaunos. Only £1.80 entrance fee, well worth it. I dont know how much a guided tour would be but i think it would be worth it. We stood by one for 5 minutes and it was very interesting!

Barber - I had a turkish shave when there. Was quoted 30 lira on the main street but again went one street back where the locals were getting shaved and they only charged 10 lira, about £1.40, bargin. There was not hot towel but for 10 lira cant complain.

Marrage - my girlfriend went for about 4 massages when we were there, for a 40 minute medical massage it was £130 lira, so less than £20, great value and Mimis.
We both went for a turkish bath when there. We went to the oldest one in town. It was nice enough but have had better in the past so next time I would try the one at Mimis next time.

Street dogs - there are street dogs outside almost every resteraunts, oh and cats. There is no need to be scared of the dogs, they are all friendly and all look in good condition. From what we learned, the governmnet tag and chip all the dogs as well as give then ingections and neuter them. Lovely dogs and cats everywhere.

We will certainly be going back to the beautiful Dalyan as well as the Hotel Calypso Plus!

Stayed her for 7 nights in Sept. This hotel is in a superb location on the river and only a short walk into town. Really peaceful position to sit with a cold beer and watch the river turtles and fish jumping.

The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and nothing seemed to be too much bother. Breakfast was good with a choice of hot food as well as the usual yoghurt, fruit, cheeses and bread.

Lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds and shaded area for those who want it. The gardens were well maintained.

Would definitely stay at this hotel again...

I agree with most of the comments made about this hotel, the location is great and it is nice to eat breakfast by the water. The rooms are basic but of a good size with a large comfortable, clean bed and a great shower. There have been lots of complaints about the breakfast, but we thought the variety was fine, the problem was that apart from the bread and cereal, almost everything else was open for flies to land on. So it was only bread and honey and a few boiled eggs for us. They really should cover the food.
Plenty of sunbeds around the pool although there were a couple of sad individuals who put their towels on beds early every morning, and then took themselves off to the beach or town, usually returning in the afternoon to actually use the beds for a very short period. All in all we had a good time at Calypso, and would not be averse to returning, however the two main reasons for booking this hotel was the location and the fact they had their own boat. The location is excellent but the boat is not in use, as they do not have a licence, they should really take this off the website. All in all I think it likely we would choose elsewhere the next time, especially as wifi was a bit hit and miss.

I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. The hotel location is perfect and watching the turtles and river go by each morning at breakfast is truly special. The restaurant is great if you don't want to walk the 10 minutes into town and Thomas & his team offer great service and are always so helpful. Yildiz behind the bar is always happy, smiling and delightful. All the ladies cleaning the rooms were always smiling and saying hello. The hotel was also spotless. Loved it and I've booked already for next year!

Have stayed here 3 times now it's so relaxing. Situated on the riverside a 10 minute walk along the river into town. We stayed B&B, breakfast on decking by the river, seeing the Nile Turtles and Kingfishers and Cormorants diving for fish. One night we saw an otter. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The cleaners keep the rooms spotless and tend to decorate you bed with fresh towels and flowers. There is a pool with bar a garden sitting area and sitting areas at the deck with another bar. The hotel also has it's own boat that you can charter for private trips and they do regular moonlight trips with a bbq. Breakfast is a self service with many options and a chef on hand to muster specials if required. I can't recommend this hotel more highly, it's heaven.

Room tip: All rooms are much the same, but if you're bad on stairs, get a ground floor one.
