There were whales popping up all over the place. We even saw one blast out face first! The gal who did the talking was CHELSEA and I cannot tell you enough how fun she made the trip! Captain Logan was amazing as he was able to spot whales. What a great experience. And also awesome... was seeing from the boat... TWO GLACIERS flowing into the water! I was watching for whales and put my camera down so did not get any photos of the whales who flipped their tails.

My sister's and I went to visit my niece who is working in Juneau this summer. We scheduled a seaplane flight, and whale tour. Emma was an outstanding whale guide. Extremely knowledgeable with an Environmental studies background and an incredible passion for whales. She was so fun to have as a guide! This tour company is well organized, has friendly knowledgeable staff, and can't be beat!

We hade Rachel & Capt. Dan for our trip. They both did an excellent job finding the whales and explaining about them. What impressed me was that both of them were just enthused about finding & photographing the whales as we were. They took extra time to make sure we saw as many whales as possible. We also pulled up a trap that had a crab in it & we needed to identify which one it was.

My wife and I took a comprehensive (5 hour) tour encompassing a hike to view the rainforest and Mendenhall Glacier and then a boat excursion to view whales and other sea life. Although we had done a similar excursion out of Seward the prior week - and enjoyed that experience - our Gastineau tour stood out in several ways. Our guide (Mike) was exceptionally knowledgeable and engaged participants with a range of ages and backgrounds. He is a local resident who previously served on the faculty at the University of Alaska, so he has far more than a passing understanding of the native culture, climate, marine and plant biology and glaciers. Even though we had spent the prior 2 weeks in Alaska on other tours, he took our understanding on things we learned before to a new level. Mike also was a good "first mate" to our boat captain (Kellie). They worked well together to ensure we were able to observe a number of humpback whales, sea lions, eagles and other wildlife. The boats Gastineau Guiding uses are flexibly designed so they sit close to the water and provide great viewing from everywhere on the boat. The open, fixed seating and generous windows in the cabin area are comfortable, functional and provide protection from inclimate weather. Finally, the Gastineau support staff were friendly and helpful when making our reservations, and the tour operation worked like clockwork from start to finish. We had an excellent experience all around. We highly recommend Gastineau Guiding to others visiting the area.

We did this trip as part of our cruise, it was nothing short of spectacular - it was lovely to do the rainforest walk, the glacier was stunning, the highlight of the trip was the whale watching. Can throroughly recommend this trip. Jamie our tour guide was fantastic, and Captain Kate on the boat was also fantastic, such a memorable day. Thank you to both of you.
