“A diamond in the rough!”
Reviewed 29 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

We were only there for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Tom was there to greet us and give us helpful information of the area. The hosts let us share their deck with them and the views are amazing - looking across to Rainbow Glacier, the sunsets on the lake and even the rocky beach were breathtaking! The directions are easy to follow and the sights along the way were beautiful. The suite had everything we needed for our stay, was quiet and very relaxing. If I ever get back up to Haines or in the area I will definitely book SuCasa again!

“I am already planning our return trip for Spring of 2018”
Reviewed 8 November 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We make our second trip to SuCasa the first week in October and spent 5 days with Tom and Carolyn Ganner. Tom is an excellent photographer and this year he was our guide to find and photograph bears. Tom stresses safety above all else. That means for both the humans and the bears. Tom taught us how to recognize stress on the bears and when to back off. Tom also helped us with our photography and provided tips on all elements of taking and developing the digital image. His experience as a teacher is invaluable and suggestions are always constructive.

“Quiet and well- equipped”
Reviewed 13 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

My husband and I stayed 10 nights at Su Casa and were extremely pleased with our hosts as well as the accommodations. We cooked dinner almost every night in the cabin, and found the kitchen extremely well-equipped for our needs. The fridge holds more food than one might expect for an under the counter model. There were many extras provided, such as propane for the BBQ, foil, plastic wrap, spices, coffee, sugar, etc. There were a few other items we needed, and Tom and Carolyn generously provided them. If you stay at the Su Casa, be sure to take the walking path past the owners home and check out the water frontage. It is a little slice of waterfront heaven with a great view of the mountains and Rainbow Glacier. The cell service was spotty for us, we are on AT&T. There was no cable, or satellite and no streaming was available on wi-fi, but there are enough DVD's and videos provided to entertain you, if you like. It was very convenient to have laundry on site. Just up the road from Su Casa, we saw a female Moose and her calf! A terrific spot!

“Trip of a lifetime”

We spent a week with Tom and Carolyn in their home. As an avid photographer and my wife a willing participant, we enjoyed their hospitality, friendship and Tom's photographic knowledge. Tom is a teacher and as a learner, I learned quickly that Tom has the patience to guide and improve ones skills. SuCasa means exactly what it says, it was our home away from home in Haines. My wife has such a good time, she was almost in tears as we left. Not just the scenery, photography but the hospitality and friendship we enjoyed during our stay. By the way, we are already scheduling next years visit.
