If you are looking for a quiet location away from town, close to the water, with beautiful views all day long this is it. Rustic with cozy homeyness, we had everything we needed a great place for a family. The hot water in the shower was a bit challenging to regulate.
Our family of six spent 4 nights at The Gathering Place....2 nights in a cabin, one night tenting and one night in the communal building.
Our stay couldn't have been better. Cabins were spotless, fully stocked and all this in a beautiful setting overlooking the inlet.
Frank was very friendly, helpful and full of info. He lent our grandkids fishing equipment and they had a great time catching pinks off the shore in front of the cabins.
Also it's a great spot, close to bear watching and convenient to town.
THANK YOU FRANK for the great hospitality. We will be back.
The view is absolutely breathtaking. Don't even bother to stay in the downtown in cabins thee, drive on out to The Gathering Place. The owners are more than just a business owner, they make you feel like you are part of the family. You are close to the Chilkoot State Park and you if you want to see bears and eagles, you will definitely see them down by the bridge and lake. It's double the price to stay in town. You are only 7 minutes from downtown Haines. The cabins are adorable. You have a bedroom downstairs and a loft upstairs as well. You can sit out on the porch and take in the view. I can't say enough good things about this place. We can't wait to go back. If you want an RV park? They have sites there as well. Do not miss out on this gem of a place. You will be sorry.
