We spent 5 days at Arenas Del Mar in the middle of our 12 day Costa Rica vacation. This is our second time to Costa Rica within 2 years and Arenas Del Mar was the only property we returned to a second time. This hotel is stunning! The people, the beaches, the rainforest, the rooms and the food are all exceptional! The pool area was redone since the last time we were there and it is beautiful! The wildlife is everywhere you look! We surfed and boogie boarded every day. The last day I walked to the beach to meet my family I saw 5 sloths and countless monkeys. It is amazing that you can see different kinds of monkeys and sloths and other animals while walking to breakfast or the beach. The food is outstanding whether you eat at Mirador or the beach restaurant. The drinks are refreshing and fun! We took advantage of happy hour most nights and enjoyed the ceviche station and the taco station! The people at this hotel are priceless! Christian, Keller and Tatiana made our vacation extra special! We were greeted by name, asked about our day, given great recommendations for food outside the property and they are always quick to point out wildlife on the golf carts for great photo shots! We can't wait to return to Arenas Del Mar again some day! This place is magical in our eyes and the people are beautiful on the inside and out!

Beautiful room overlooking the Pacific near Manuel Antonio NP. Food is excellent, and staff is very welcoming. I really like Luis in the restaurant. Room was huge for no extra cost. I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay at Arenas Del Mar. The friendly staff knew us by name and genuinely enjoyed their jobs. They encouraged us to speak in Spanish, but would converse in English if we did. Food and cocktails were excellent. There was a chef who had a tableside speciality each evening for dinner and it was fantastic! A nice addition is that your stay includes a daily full hot breakfast selected from the menu at no cost. Private beach was lovely as was the rainforest surrounding the property (we saw sloths sleeping in the trees, iguanas, crabs). 15 minute ride to the state park, town, public beaches, and other excursions/tours. Wonderful experience!

Room Tip: Rooms are small, but the balcony was spacious and the minibar was stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks.

This is a wonderful place to stay, our first night, they had dinner on the beach, which was lovely and even had a Sloth come down to join us for a short while. Saw lots of wild life, plenty of monkeys. We wish we had had longer there to enjoy our surroundings, would defiantly go back. The rooms are not as big as some hotels but the outside space and views make up for that, who wants to stay in their rooms anyway, when there is so much to see and do. The people at the hotel are very welcoming and attentive, you couldn’t ask for more.

The service at this hotel is superb! Upon arrival, we were given a glass of pineapple, mint, and coconut drink that tasted like candy in a glass! They knew just what we needed after the full day of traveling! We were greeted by name the entire week and felt like family. Jorge, a golf cart driver, truly was set apart from the rest of the staff. We always hoped he was the one to give us a ride to and from the parking lot/beach. Jorge was extremely social while he pointed out sloths, monkeys, birds, and iguanas on our cart rides. He would even stop so we could take videos or pictures while he gave us information about the animals. If we were in another cart, Jorge would give a warm Hola and greeted us again by name.

The complimentary breakfast was amazingly delicious. The husband tried every dish and was pleased each morning. Jason Lara was our server multiple times (we asked specifically for him) and he was our favorite. He served us in the main restaurant as well as the beach front restaurant. We appreciated his attention to detail as he remembered what our favorites were. When we were at the beach, my husband was moving lounge chairs to the sun when Jason jumped to his side to assist. He made sure we had everything we needed (towels and ice water with lemon and mint). He’s a waiter, not a cabana boy, but he’s the first to assist guests no matter if it’s his job or not. The food at the beach was wonderful and you can tell they use only the freshest ingredients. The club sandwich was my favorite while the husband loved the pork sandwich. These sound like ordinary sandwiches, but I can assure you they are not ordinary in any way.

You will only have an amazing experience at this property. We saw more wildlife on the grounds than we did in Manuel Antonio Park. The sloths and monkeys were close to the ground and we even saw both kinds of sloths. Best vacation ever! Muy Bueno!
