We went to this restaurant on an internet recommendation and we were not disappointed in the slightest. The restaurant closes at 10pm sharp. However there is a bar upstairs opening to 1am - 2am depending on season/ day of week.
You will need transport to this restaurant by night, as the roads are quite narrow and very dark with no sidewalks/ pavements by the road to walk. Taxis are infrequent after 10pm in the area and you may need to order a taxi back with the restaurant or bar upstairs.

The restaurant is in typical Costa Rican tree house style, perched on a high ledge in the rain forest by the main Manuel Antonio access road. Beautiful surroundings and romantic/ low light ambience with soft music. The staff are very professional and are always smiling and happy to serve. The prices range from moderate to high, but every budget is catered for. A mix of local dishes, Mexican, American and European style served courteously and well presented. Wine and spirits are a little expensive. Cocktails are available. The restaurant has views over the bay and great for a sunset romantic dinner! We hear that the restaurant is popular in the afternoon and early evening. Parking available directly outside. Non-smoking environment but can smoke in the car parking areas infront. Vegetarian friendly dishes available. They are willing to adjust the main meals to suite your requirements - just ask the staff.
Delicious food, beautiful location, great ambience - Worth a visit. Highly Recommended. Pura Vida.- We will certainly return here next visit to Costa Rica.

We ate at Rafael’s both nights in Manual Antonio — excellent food, fun atmosphere and welcoming staff! We all several different fish entrees and they were all delicious. The prices are affordable (especially compared to some other more touristy spots). Our daughter also loved playing with the sweet dogs at the restaurant! We hope to be back at some point! Thank you!

Everything we've tried during several visits was very tasty. The view was incredible! Staff made us feel at home. Lizards on the roof downstairs were hungry and we fed them veges and fruit. Several dogs were kinda strange roaming around but didn't bother anyone we saw. We stay at The Falls and usually eat there but this is our choice to go out.

I had the pleasure of visiting Raphael's Terrazas twice in my recent visit to Manuel Antonio. The food was off the chart good and the service was pleasant!

The first time I went I had calamari appetizer, and paella. The dish was very good and had some nice seafood in it. The second time I went I had mussels in garlic sauce. Once again, delicious. The drinks were well done and the service was great. A friend that I was with had the whole fried red snapper -- OMG that looked good. Even the hamburger that another friend had looked good and was huge.

Highly recommended!

My husband and I had dinner here last night. We were stunned with the ocean and sunset views which we enjoyed whilst drinking a few cocktails (they have a happy hour and the margaritas and mojhitos were really good!). We had the cerviche for starter and we both agreed that it was exceptional. Enough for two to share in our opinion. I had the tuna steak with jumbo prawns. The tuna came in a ginger and wasabi sauce. I'm not a huge wasabi fan but this was incredible. Hubby had the traditional style red snapper and was really impressed. To finish we had the tres leches which was really yum. Overall we really enjoyed our evening here and if we return the area will certainly pay this place a visit again!
