This is a good choice. It brings good breakfasts, a nice pool, birds of numerous types, benches overlooking the beach to meditate, sloths and kinkajous in the trees outside the rooms, 5 km of black sand beach, nice gardens with fruit trees, a lovely walk on a cobblestone street into town (a sloth crossed over our heads on a wire!) and into Cahuita National Park (of note: watch the Capuchin monkeys, they can be aggressive). The owner spoke great English, was helpful, and had a kind, relaxing presence. The room itself was basic (e.g., couldn't open windows), but you really don't need much when you are in paradise. I did note a few green/environmentally sound practices (no plastic bottles, eco-friendly soaps). Also, we highly recommend venturing across the "street" to Bananas (part of the Cabinas Algebra) for a meal. Andrea, the owner, is one of the most caring people we've met in a while. We ended up spending quite a bit of time over there enjoying the food, hospitality, and great laughs.More
