Need I say more? We saw lots of wildlife. Sloths, raccoons, spider monkeys, white face monkeys, snakes, lizards, tons of birds. Great time hiking to the point.

We walked into the park from our hotel outside of Cahuita through the park to the Puerto Vargas exit. We saw sloths, capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, and howler monkeys. Take a snack and lots of water! It was a flat walk, a relatively easy walk to do!

You can see a lot of animals there walking very close to the sea right inside the jungle on a good path.

Nothing more then a simple walk in a tropical forest on a seaside. Better you take a local guide (15€ per person) or you wan’t see anything, they know exactly pretty much where almost all the animals are! By the way, the 8km path is split in two part, the first one and where the local guide will take you, with all the animals, is like 1,5 km, then there is a small river ford and then the other 6/7 km. Donation it’s like 5$ per person.

Visit this place. Also... Hire a guide.

So here's the deal... Most of the animals you won't see are all around you while you;re in this park. These critters aren't in a zoo, but rather moving about, living their lives in their natural environment. This means that their natural camouflage comes into play. The guides track these animals from day to day, and are far better at spotting them than anyone that doesn't track them from day to day. Hire a guide locally for about $10-$20US. Pay at least $10US/per person to get into the park. They (the rangers) like that a lot, as it helps support the park and keep it open and nice. For that money, you will enjoy the experience of a lifetime!
