This place is quite amazing. The Cabins are fabulous. We are a family of 4 and there was plenty of space inside. Even had a small kitchen. A sitting area outside was perfect...but make sure you have mosquito repellent!!. The property is right beside beach/ocean and walking distance to the town. We had a car but did not use it at all while we were in Tamarindo. Ilse was a great host. The grounds and cabins were spotless. The big negative was the LOUD music at night. I think there is a hostel close by and every night the music was blaring until at least 3 am...it was the worst on Saturday night where it felt like it was right beside you. The beds were comfy. Other than that, a great find!

Dear Alka,

Greetings from Costa Rica ! Thank you for your kind feedback. We we're very happy to have you and your family. You visited us in Spring break normally it's very quiet except on holidays like Christmas and new year then Tamarindo become very festive and full of people .
I hope that you'll come next time to visit us when there is no holiday and then you will have a different experience regarding the music .
Say hi to your family ,

Meanwhile I remain at your service.

Kind Regards,

Mika Kapeta - Owner

My partner and I stumbled across Ocho while exploring Tamarindo one evening. Unfortunately we didn't know about it before booking our trip, otherwise we would have loved have stayed at Ocho. We took a tour of the grounds and had a wonderful time chatting with the ultra friendly bartender Laura over drinks. :) From what we could tell, the unique cabin-like accommodations, beautiful grounds, proximity to the beach/ocean and incredibly friendly staff set this hotel apart and make it a place not to miss!

Just got back from our stay at Ocho Artisan Bungalows and simply can't express how much we enjoyed it. Ilse and Michelle were on top of all the best things to do - arranging it all for us to simply enjoy. The property is beautiful both inside and out, with a lovely pool to lounge in and right on the beach. The air conditioned bungalow was so pleasant to come "home" to. The bungalows are within walking distance for a lot of the town but we rented a golf cart to get around in because the temps were in the high 90's each day. Spent our evenings in the bar area enjoying the hospitality of Laura who was a particular favorite for my son and daughter. The family time (code for "no TV"!) and the special memories we made at the Ocho Artisan Bungalows were priceless and we miss everyone. Drinks on the beach for our last sunset was bittersweet. Thanks for everything.

Stop surfing the web. This is THE place to stay in Tamarindo. 5 star service and accommodations. Returning 2 months later with entire family after visiting with 3 girlfriends. Bungalows are perfect for family of 4. Best girls trip ever. Ilse, Michelle, and Walter are so welcoming, fun, and happy! You can relax and you can party! Best of both worlds. It is truly a"in the know" place to stay in CR. Amazing and can't wait to return. -and I can be a tough customer:)

My wife and I stayed her with our 4 young kids (age 4-9). It is a fantastic plays both for adults and kids. Very friendly owner and staff. Beautiful pool and beach view from our bungalow. Kids can safely walk to the beach. The owner designed the bungalows and the entire complex in a very unique and stylish way. You really have the feeling that you are in the jungle in Costa Rica while on the beach. Architectural design of bungalows are very beautiful. If you don't like the big brand resorts and you want to go boutique style, this is the way to go. We will be back for sure. Thank you Sean and staff for an amazing time for the kids and us.

Room Tip: two bungalows closest to the beach are the best
