We are on the last day of our 9 night stay at Jardin Del Eden. The hotel is a peaceful oasis, close to the town and the restaurants and bars but secluded enough to feel away from the busy town.
The staff at this hotel are fantastic. They are, without exception, friendly and welcoming. The reception staff are great but a special mention has to go to Endy & Moises, the pool bar staff. They are fabulous.
The pool is large enough for the size of the hotel and there is a beach area with a bar if you prefer to be by the ocean.
Breakfast is good, a selection of fruits, meats, cheeses, pastries, some cereal, fresh juices, coffee, and eggs and waffles cooked to order.
We were a little disappointed with the romantic garden room because it did not look like the photos on the hotel website-the jacuzzi is just in a very small walled area, not the garden that we were expecting. The room was large though and the bathroom was really good. I spoke to reception and they switched our room for the second half of our stay to a jacuzzi room with ocean view-it was really lovely and the view was fantastic. I do think that the hotel website photos should show you what you will actually get, to avoid disappointment. I cannot fault how the reception staff responded when I discussed this with them.
The rooms have a safe and a selection of toiletries and amenities such as a fridge and coffee machine.
If you need an early breakfast the staff will box up a breakfast for you.
We booked the mangrove estuary trip through the hotel and it was very good.
The jacuzzi in both of the rooms that we stayed in were very good.
We ate dinner in the restaurant on one evening-the service was great and food was good but it was expensive compared to restaurants in the town.
We saw a troupe of howler monkeys in the trees just outside the hotel reception, which was really lovely. Green iguanas can often be seen around the pool area-a great sight.
There is no gym in the hotel but we were able to use the gym in the sister hotel that is just a short walk away.
The town itself has plenty to offer for bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets.
We have loved our stay in Costa Rica and we loved Jardin Del Eden. If you want a peaceful, adult environment with great service, this hotel is for you.
